I asked an Apple fan what his favourite Apple accessory was, and he gave me this 3-min rundown of why he loves his BoostCharge 3-in-1 Wireless Charger from Belkin.

Belkin’s aesthetic BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 15W Wireless Charger offers convenience and fast power with MagSafe technology.
Dylan currently uses the BoostCharge 3-in-1 7.5W Wireless Charger for his iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods Pro.
He is planning to buy the BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe 15W for his new Apple 14 Pro Max, Watch Series 8 and AirPods Pro.
Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe 15W
The latest version of Belkin’s 3-in-1 wireless charging stand is the BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe 15W.
It is compatible with the latest iPhone 14, Apple Watch Series 8 and new AirPods Pro.
The phone charger allows the iPhone to be placed in both landscape and portrait modes, and features a magnetic charging module for the Apple Watch that delivers 33% faster charging for Apple Watch Series 7 – charging from 0-80% in about 45 minutes.
Currently available for S$219 from Belkin’s online stores on Challenger.sg, LazMall and Shopee Mall.
The first and foremost benefit of the 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is that Dylan is able to charge three devices simultaneously with only one power outlet.
This is convenient both at home and in his office — especially at home since his other family members are also Apple fans with iPhones, Watches and AirPods to charge as well.
When he doesn’t have THREE available power outlets (or multiplugs), he’d usually have to charge only one device at a time and only move on to the next device when the previous one had completed charging.
Dylan loves how compact and tidy the wireless charger is – instead of three separate charging cables to three separate devices, there is only one cable from the power outlet to the 3-in-1 wireless charger.
And the upright charger for the iPhone doubles up as a phone stand so he can talk handsfree, FaceTime or record a voice memo while the phone is on the wireless charging stand.

The advent of electric vehicles represents a seismic shift in thinking as well as operations. In this thought leadership opinion piece, Thomas Goetzl from Keysight Technologies shares his insights on how this introduces several challenges like pressure on the power grid and a need for sustainable and environmentally friendly material.

Automakers need to reimagine a decade-old industry to meet modern challenges.
Over the next decade, many automakers plan to transform their fleets to electric power, with some announcing goals for fully electric lineups within five years.
Automakers are making products that meet evolving industry standards for safety, emissions testing, and energy efficiency.

The surge in electric vehicles comes with infrastructure, manufacturing, and regulatory challenges that will impact the automotive industry.
They require Electric Powertrain and HEV/EV solutions that address safety, regulatory, and environmental issues.
This significant transformation represents a seismic shift in thinking as well as operations and introduces several challenges like pressure on the power grid and a need for sustainable, environmentally friendly material.

Dell research suggests that Singapore and the APJ lags the world in its “Breakthrough Benchmark” – a measure of the readiness for digital transformation.

Dell Technologies’ research from over 40 countries details how despite two years of accelerated digital transformation, only 5% of the Singapore workforce has an appetite for digital change. Click to enlarge.
I was looking through a study report from Dell on digital transformation and couldn’t help but notice that the survey results seem to indicate that Singapore and APJ seems to lag the global index for its “Breakthrough Benchmark”.
The survey of 10,500 respondents from around the world measured participants’ readiness for technological change and placed them in four benchmark groups:
- Sprint: Traiblazers ready to chase after innovation and technological change.
- Steady: Poised to adopt technological change selected by others.
- Slow: More inclined to hold back and observe / deliberate rather than take action.
- Still: Take a pessimistic view of innovation based on perceived risk. Tend to anticipate problems and resist proposed technology innovations based on perceived risk.
Respondents in the “Sprint”and “Steady” groups tend to be more confident that they or their organisation will advance in areas of technology adoption, while respondents in the “Slow” and “Still” groups are more likely to see the potential risks involved and retreat.

6G wireless technology brings with it a promise for a better future. Among other goals, 6G technology intends to merge the human, physical, and digital worlds. In doing so, there is a hope that 6G can significantly aid in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

As 5G continues to roll out, work is already well underway on its successor – 6G.
In today’s guest commentary, Jessy Cavazos from Keysight Technologies answers some of the most common questions surrounding 6G and provides more insight into the vision for 6G and how it will achieve these critical goals.
1. What is 6G?
6G is the sixth generation of the wireless communications standard for cellular networks that will succeed today’s 5G.
The research community does not expect 6G technology to replace the previous generations, though.
Instead, they will work together to provide solutions that enhance our lives.

Geopolitical uncertainty has dramatically increased the chances that healthcare organisations will experience more security attacks in the next couple years. Keith Bromley from Keysight Technologies shares his insights into the need for SecOps teams to prepare for even more ransomware attacks to extort money along with “lights out attacks” designed to cripple day to day operations.

The Threat is Real – Three Steps to Securing Your Healthcare Network.
The last two years have proven that the statement — “No one would want to hurt a hospital or healthcare clinic” — is a false narrative.
Cyberattacks against network servers in the healthcare sector rose 35% in 2020 and another 53% in 2021, according to Fortified Health Security reports.
Expect The Unexpected
A focus on cyber resiliency is key to your success.
Once a cyber-attack or breach has been launched, you obviously need to stop the threat.
However, it is just as important to get back to normal operations as fast as possible to maintain business continuity and satisfy patient needs.
The key to making cyber resiliency work safely is to engineer your security architecture with self-healing capabilities from the start.
See the highlight box below for some examples of engineered cyber resilience.
Bad actors are making sure that healthcare organizations either spend now on security defenses or pay later for ransoms, fines and lawsuits.
You can start the process with a three-point plan focused on prevention, detection, and vigilance.
Here are some focused recommendations from this three-point plan:
1. Deploy an inline security solution to reduce as many vulnerabilities within the network as possible
Inline security solutions are a high impact technique that address security threats, especially ransomware targeting healthcare networks.
These solutions can eliminate 90% or more of incoming security threats before they even enter your network.

Want to jazz up your home or entertainment space with smart accented lighting that enhances the ambience and atmosphere? The Philips Hue Play light bars transform your living space instantly and easily provide immersive lighting to better enjoy your movies, games and music.

The Philips Hue Play light bars are an easy way to set up smart accented lighting to enhance the ambience of your entertainment space. Before (bottom) and After (top).
I’d installed a 65-inch Android TV from Prism+ in my living room a few months back and had been enjoying the big screen experience at home.

The basic box set for the Philips Hue Play light bar comes in a pack of two at an RRP of S$209. Currently selling online at S$146.
But that living space was a tad boring with the TV sitting on a plain cabinet against a blank wall – even though the yellow wall had been painted with an arty sponge effect.
To add some coloured ambient lighting, I got a pair of Philips Hue Play light bars and stood them on either side of the TV, atop the TV cabinet.
The light bars were really easy to set up and took all of five minutes: simply plug each light into the smart plug that came with the Hue Play light bar double pack, stick that plug into the power socket and switch on.

Huawei has just launched its latest wireless Bluetooth speaker in Singapore. Co-engineered with audio expert Devialet, the Sound Joy offers good punchy sound, long playback battery life and IP67 waterproofing/dustproofing rating to deploy the speaker in the fun outdoors.

The Huawei Sound Joy will be launching exclusively on Lazada at an introductory promotion of S$168 (U.P. S$188). Available from 11 July 2022.
The Huawei Sound Joy is targeted at the young who are active outdoors and need a portable and chic wireless speaker that produces powerful sound and which can withstand the elements.
The Sound Joy comes in two colours, the boring Obsidian Black and the lovely Spruce Green which I prefer.
The coloured light circle on top of the Sound Joy jazzes up the wireless speaker and complements the vibrating passive radiators.
With a length of 202mm and diameter of 73mm, and mass of 680g — the speaker is about the size and weight of a water bottle.
Co-engineered with Devialet, it features the audiohouse’s 2-way speaker system and its Devialet SAM technology which produces good sound quality for any audio type.

#tech4travel: My top tip for people traveling with lots of electronic devices is to bring along a plug bank. Sounds simple or overkill? It’s my personal travel best practice!

Back in 2018, this room in a tiny rustic village in Taiwan had only two wall outlets, crammed under the side table. Imagine charging the phones, tablets, camera batteries overnight for a family of four. And you have laptops that plug while in use or being charged. The plug power bank is a life-saver!
Travel is resuming slowly and steadily despite the pandemic.
One of the most stressful chores during travel is charging the plethora of electronic devices that we tend to bring along for the trip.
The bulk of carrying loads of chargers and charging cables alone can contribute to the bulk and weight of the luggage, especially since I tend to carry them in the carry-on luggage.

For greater peace of mind, I use this APC power bank by Schneider Electric that has surge protection for your gadgets, with six three-pin sockets and two USB-A ports.
That’s because if a charger is lost or delayed in the checked-in luggage for the flight, the associated gadget becomes unavailable for the trip – until I go shopping for a replacement charger/cable – which is a great inconvenience in terms of time and effort.

Joan Hu, Overseas Southeast Asia Director at Roborock, shares her plans for the company in APAC for the second half of this year.

Joan Hu is the Overseas Southeast Asia Director at Roborock.
To get a picture of Roborock’s strategy for APAC in H2 2022, I asked Joan Hu five questions.
Q1. Roborock has recorded a strong growth in China since its introduction. What do you think contributed to this?
In the robot vacuum market back in 2014, most available products only focused on the basic need that comes with a vacuum – cleaning.
We saw an opportunity to fulfill needs and wants that consumers didn’t know they had yet.
Hence, we grew our R&D department with a team of engineers, scientists, manufacturing experts and designers – all vital for creating products that truly fit our users’ lifestyle.
Q2. Any new vacuum launches this year?
We have just launched the Roborock S7 MaxV in early 2022.
This is an upgrade of our popular Roborock S7, with ReactiveAI 2.0 Obstacle Avoidance System.
The S7 MaxV recognizes objects in its path more accurately and adapts quickly to clean around them, regardless of lighting conditions.
It also features Roborock’s acclaimed VibraRise® technology, a combination of sonic mopping with an automatic mop lift designed to transition smoothly over contrasting surfaces, while delivering effective high-intensity scrubs to tackle surface dirt.

The Roborock Q7 Max robot vacuum cleaner and mop was launched in Singapore recently in April 2022.
That’s not all, we also launched the Q7 Max – the latest lineup to our premium Q-series, a range of robot vacuums that combines proven features of our flagship S-Series, including LiDAR navigation, multi-level mapping and customizable app controls, making automated cleaning now an affordable luxury.
