Google Pixel 3 (S$1,249) and Pixel 3 XL (S$1,399) Android smartphones will be available from 1 November through the Google Store online, as well as local telcos Singtel and StarHub. Pixel Stand is priced at S$119.
Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL launched in Singapore.
Google promises a “more helpful, thoughtful and enjoyable experience” on the new Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones, powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
The Pixel comes in two sizes, the 5.5” Pixel 3 and the 6.3” Pixel 3 XL.

The Honor 8X budget smartphone from Huawei is being officially launched in Singapore today. Highlights include an aurora glass body and thin bottom border using innovative chip-on-film (COF) technology.
In Singapore, the Honor 8X is now available through authorized resellers and official online store at Lazada for S$348.
The Honor 8X features a 6.5-inch FullView display with 91% screen-to-body ratio and a 2.5D double texture aurora glass body with a grating effect.
The 6.5-inch Notch Full-View Display 2.0 has a 19.5:9 ratio in a 5.5-inch long and 7.8 mm thick body.
At launch, the Honor 8X will be available in Black and Blue, with the Red color available at a later date.
The aspect ratio is close to the 21:9 ratio used in cinemas.

Oppo Singapore has launched the R17 (S$699) and R17 Pro (S$999) Android smartphones in Singapore, the first market outside China to launch the R17 series following the Shanghai launch earlier this year.
The new Oppo R-series smartphones is specially designed for night shooting, aided by AI.
The OPPO R17 6GB+128GB will be available in Singapore on 6th October at S$699.
The R17 Pro 8GB+128GB with SuperVOOC is priced at S$999.
Pre-order will begin on 3rd November 2018 and it will be available from 10th November 2018.

The CaltexGo mobile payment app offers fast, hassle-free fuel payment from the comfort of your car.
Chevron’s General Manager of Products for Singapore, Shahid Ahmed, at the launch of CaltexGo mobile fuel payment app in Singapore.
Chevron Singapore, which operates the retail brand Caltex, has introduced Singapore’s first fuel payment app.
“As part of its new digital transformation, Chevron has opted for an agile approach to its first mobile payment solution, listening closely to user feedback and learning from industry best practices towards developing a minimum viable product for fuel payment,” said Chevron’s General Manager of Products for Singapore, Shahid Ahmed, when I chatted with him during the app’s launch.
The CaltexGO mobile payment app is the front-end of an integrated digital eco-system that offers cashless payments and helps consumers locate a service station, enjoy automatic loyalty LinkPoints collection, exclusive mobile offers, and electronic receipts at their fingertips.
CaltexGO responds to key consumer pinch points identified in the retail brand’s recent consumer insights analysis.
Chevron notes that refueling can be seen as a chore which drivers strive to mitigate.
Having to wait for a pump, long payment queues, and the complexity related to loyalty and payment systems were the top inconvenience grouses by drivers at service stations.

Alibaba Group Holding Limited today announced that one year from today – on September 10, 2019 – chief executive officer Daniel Zhang will succeed Jack Ma as chairman of the board of Alibaba Group. Below is a letter that Ma has issued to Alibaba’s customers, employees and shareholders.

Jack Ma will continue as executive chairman of the company over the next 12 months to ensure a smooth transition of the chairmanship to Daniel Zhang.

Qingjian unveiled the fully smart condominium development with 1,206 apartments, and 63 one-bedroom units for seniors. The development will also feature a smart estate management system. Prices below.
JadeScape is the first major condominium launch after the Government’s property cooling measures in July. Average price: S$1,700 per square foot. The 1,206-unit development comprises 236 one-bedders, 403 two-bedders, 265 three-bedders, 261 four-bedders, 39 five-bedders and two penthouses built across seven blocks on 36,985.7 square metres of land. In addition to smart home devices previously not included in its residential developments, Qinjian boasts that JadeScape will be the first to adopt a Smart Estate Management System, with intelligent estate monitoring embedded throughout the development.
Price-wise, Yen Chong shared that 1-bedroom units (527 sq ft) will start from S$838k, 2-bedroom units (646 to 775 sq ft) from S$988k, and 3-bedroom units (904 to 1,152 sq ft) from S$1.38 million. The prices for the 4- and 5-bedroom apartments, as well as the penthouses, have not been determined yet.
In a bold move, the en bloc redevelopment will include 63 one-bedroom apartments, in three stacks, for senior residents.

Lazada has officially launched its eCommerce LazMall in six Southeast Asian countries with a 9-day shopping campaign culminating in the 9 September shopping day declared by the company’s parent, Alibaba back in 2016.
Jing Yin, Co-President, Commercial, Lazada Group, in Singapore officially launching LazMall for six Southeast Asian countries for the 9.9 shopping festival.
The 9-day online shopping festival boasts more than 215 thousand deals of up to 90% discounts for shoppers in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand & Vietnam.

Alibaba Cloud held its Alibaba Cloud Summit in Singapore. It is the first summit in Asia Pacific that’s outside of China and Hong Kong.
