The wellness platform rewards customers for keeping active. Mobile customers with My Singtel app can use their steps to earn up to 3GB of data and other lifestyle rewards.
Yuen Kuan Moon, CEO, Consumer Singapore, Singtel; and Patrick Teow, Chief Executive Officer, AIA Singapore at the StepUp launch event.
A few thousand have already activated StepUp when the platform went active last evening prior to the official launch today.
“Our partnership with Singtel redefines what it means to enable healthier, longer, better lives in today’s digitally-enriched world. Through leveraging Singapore’s digital advantage, our common shared value is to make a real difference in people’s lives, particularly when Singaporeans are spending more time on their digital devices such as their mobile phones and living sedentary lives. With StepUp, individuals and families can now take charge of their own health and integrate more active lifestyle habits into their daily lives,” said Patrick Teow, Chief Executive Officer, AIA Singapore.
The platform, a collaboration of Singtel and AIA Singapore, allows third-party partners to reach their combined customer base of some 5 million in Singapore, with 1 million already on My Singtel app.
As a potential for future growth, the collaboration could be extended to the substantial overseas markets that both companies have, which will increase the reach of the platform to many times that of the Singapore market.
To kick-start their StepUp journey and begin earning mobile data, all customers need to do is to log into My Singtel app, activate StepUp and sync their steps from their iOS or Android smartphones.
In the next few months, customers can also look forward to more reward options such as a free Diet & Sports DNA kit by GeneLife to help customers eat and exercise well based on their DNA, as well as other rewards from PUMA and SingSaver.
To celebrate the launch of StepUp, customers who clock 10,000 steps a day at least once from now until 31 August will stand a chance to win an Apple Watch Series 4 or Samsung Galaxy Watch.
More details below from the press release.

Official launch of Speedoc mobile app for house call medical treatment services in Singapore.

Speedoc was launched today at its office in UIC Building in Singapore.
The app was soft launched in Jan 2018 and has seen 3,490 downloads and 524 unique patients, with an average of 8 patients per day.
Speedoc currently has 29 doctors – 4 fulltime, 10 from clinics and 15 locums.
“After working as a public hospital doctor for five years, I noticed a gap in the market for non-essential A&E visits, for minor cases such as coughs, colds and constipation. My team and I created Speedoc as a solution for patients to receive medical attention at any time of the day. Our goal is to be a health-tech company that helps shift advanced medical care ‘from the hospital to the home’, especially in light of Singapore’s ageing population, which may find it increasingly difficult to visit hospitals and clinics easily,” says Dr. Shravan Verma, CEO and Founder of Speedoc.
All are GPs at the moment while the startup looks for specialists in the areas of pediatrics, geriatrics and obstetrics.
Each housecall costs at S$150 (8am-8pm), S$200 (8pm-12am) and S$250 (12am-8pm).

The CaltexGo mobile payment app offers fast, hassle-free fuel payment from the comfort of your car.

Chevron’s General Manager of Products for Singapore, Shahid Ahmed, at the launch of CaltexGo mobile fuel payment app in Singapore.
Chevron Singapore, which operates the retail brand Caltex, has introduced Singapore’s first fuel payment app.
“As part of its new digital transformation, Chevron has opted for an agile approach to its first mobile payment solution, listening closely to user feedback and learning from industry best practices towards developing a minimum viable product for fuel payment,” said Chevron’s General Manager of Products for Singapore, Shahid Ahmed, when I chatted with him during the app’s launch.
The CaltexGO mobile payment app is the front-end of an integrated digital eco-system that offers cashless payments and helps consumers locate a service station, enjoy automatic loyalty LinkPoints collection, exclusive mobile offers, and electronic receipts at their fingertips.
CaltexGO responds to key consumer pinch points identified in the retail brand’s recent consumer insights analysis.
Chevron notes that refueling can be seen as a chore which drivers strive to mitigate.
Having to wait for a pump, long payment queues, and the complexity related to loyalty and payment systems were the top inconvenience grouses by drivers at service stations.

Singapore doctors launch healthcare mobile platform to put patients’ needs at the center of an ecosystem that spans a range of services from cradle to grave – literally.
The MaNaDr platform is a holistic healthcare ecosystem that connects patients, families, and friends, to a trusted network of doctors and other healthcare providers.
“Besides using the mobile app to make healthcare affordable and more accessible, MaNaDr’s market differentiation is to provide a holistic suite of services at an affordable price, in the most convenient manner possible. Over time, we want to build a whole online community of doctors, patients, and other health and medical related services. Such a community will validate a doctor’s expertise, share patient experience, for example, and recommend the brand and type of medication and other lifestyle products that are effective. This ecosystem will be built on trust, which is a crucial success factor,” said Dr Siaw Tung Yeng, Founder & CEO, MaNaDr Mobile Health.
These providers include major pharmaceutical companies and key paramedical service providers such as Amgen, MundiPharma, OmniMed Healthcare (HomeCare), QuestLab etc.
Soft launched slightly more than a year ago, the concept has gained traction with the enrollment of 500 private clinics and 600 doctors (general practitioners, dentists & specialists) in Singapore and Australia serving a million patients through its MaNaDr app.
The growing patient database will enable big data analytics that empower doctors to track a patient’s condition to offer pre-emptive and pro-active healthcare.

MaNaDr mobile healthcare platform is owned by Mobile Health Pte Ltd (“Mobile Health”), a company set up by a group of Singapore doctors to harness the power of technology to make life-long, healthcare more affordable and accessible to all.
MaNaDr has secured over S$10 million seed funding and is in talks with several large funds and investors for Series funding.
