Borneo Motors has launched a locally-developed iPad application – iTrust – in partnership with SingTel. The app helps staff provide Toyota customers a more personalised vehicle servicing experience with enhanced interactivity.
Customers will be able to view videos of comparative testing, such as the video of a Toyota Genuine Brake Pads alongside that of a counterfeit part.
The new app embodies 40 years of expertise and experience from Borneo Motors.
The effective knowledge transfer redefines customer experience, empowering them to make more informed decisions.
As most customers are not inclined to understand the technicalities of their Toyota’s servicing requirements, iTrust will enable the salesforce to explain the intricate details with clarity of visual and audio aids.

Xchanging is boosting its presence in Asia by launching Netsett, a global reinsurance and accounting net settlement service; and Vault, a technology-enabled procurement platform designed to manage sourcing project workflow.
Xchanging Asia Pacific has a headcount of 4,500 in 18 offices, servicing over 250 clients.
Xchanging is introducing these two core offerings as part of its global services, as a result of its strategic commitment to grow its Asian capabilities.

Netsett
Based on an existing service in the London insurance market, Netsett – a netting and settlement solution – was designed with the aim of improving the accounting and settlement of payments between participants in the global insurance and reinsurance community.
By simplifying the netting and settlement between entities, the platform allows insurance groups to reduce the amount of working capital needed whilst improving transparency and control.

The wireless mobile device storage wirelessly streams content for up to eight smartphones or tablets. With 10 hours of battery life, the Seagate Wireless Plus first debuted in Singapore at the IT Show 2013 earlier this month and is currently available at S$299.
Seagate Wireless Plus wireless mobile storage is available in Singapore now with 1TB at S$299.
With 1TB, the portable wireless hard drive can hold up to 500 high-definition movies.
The Seagate Media app has been developed for all major mobile devices, including Android, Kindle Fire HD, Apple iOS and will also work with just about any device that can connect to a Wi-Fi network.
Seagate Wireless Plus mobile device storage is accessed through the mobile Seagate Media app for Apple iOS, Android and Kindle Fire HD devices.

Some insights from the Norton Cybercrime Report 2012 based on a survey conducted in July last year. (* All percentages are based on % of Singaporeans)

The report found that Singaporeans love to access the Internet on their mobile devices and they feel very safe doing so.
This could result in complacency where a notable percentage choose not to use mobile security – an alarming statistic, given how addicted they are to their mobile devices.

- 84% use their mobiles phones to connect to the Internet.
- 55% consider themselves addicted to their mobile devices.
- If they could choose two items to save from a fire, 49% would save their mobile device.

Samsung has launched in New York the fourth generation GALAXY S. The GALAXY S4 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED with 441ppi, and uses either a Quad-Core or Octa-Core processor – depending on the market, available in white or black, 3G or LTE.

There’s a 2,600 mAh battery, 13-megapixel rear camera, 2GB RAM, 16-64 GB user memory with microSD slot for up to 64GB, and loads of software features.
No eye-scroll though. As expected, there’s Smart Pause – which pauses and play a video on the screen when the user’s eye looks away and back respectively.
