New arrival: Dyson Pure Cool purifying fan in Singapore

The latest version of Dyson’s Pure Cool purifying fan adds an LCD display, a new filter and 350⁰ degree oscillation. Prices below.

The new Dyson Pure Cool purifying fan comes in Desktop version (S$699, White/Silver) and Tower version (S$899, White/Silver, Black/Nickel, Iron/Blue).

In the new Pure Cool purifying fan, Dyson leverages its in-house expertise in electronics, filtration and airflow to clean every corner of the room.

The new LCD display reports pollutants in the home in real time, and then reacts automatically using a Dyson algorithm.

The purifying fan features a 360 degree fully-sealed filter system combining an activated carbon filter to remove gases, and a Glass HEPA filter that captures 99.95% of microscopic allergens and pollutants as small as 0.1 microns.

Air Multiplier technology and new 350⁰ oscillation project and mix purified air around the whole room to purify every corner.

A new diffused mode offers users from temperate countries the option, in winter, of purifying the air without the cooling effects of the fan.

New arrival: Dyson Cyclone V10 cord-free vacuum cleaner

The latest stick vacuum cleaner from Dyson has a smaller but lighter motor and new in-line format for linear airflow path and “point and shoot” bin emptying mechanism. Prices below.

Dyson launched its new Cyclone V10 cord-free vacuum cleaner together with the new Pure Cool purifying fan in Singapore at the ArtScience Museum.

Dyson’s new V10 digital motor boasts 20 percent more suction power than that found in the V8 cord-free vacuum.

Yet it is almost half the weight of its predecessor.

The new Dyson Cyclone V10 comes in three configurations: Fluffy (S$899), Absolute (S$999), and Absolute + (S$1,199).

Dyson’s fastest and most power-dense digital vacuum motor spins at up to 125,000 rpm.

The new battery in the V10 now adds 50 percent more juice, extending the V8’s 40min use-per-charge to 60 minutes.

The new Fitbit Versa smartwatch is now available globally and in Singapore at S$318, with accessories ranging from S$50 – S$140. Includes female health tracking and quick replies to mobile Android device messages (from May).

Singtel & VMware set up Digital Transformation Foundry in Singapore

Singtel and VMware signs a memorandum of understanding at CIO Forum 2018 to jointly provide solutions to accelerate the digital transformation of enterprises across the Asia Pacific region.

New arrival: Huawei P20 & Huawei P20 Pro smartphones in Singapore

Pre-orders online for the two new flagship smartphones begin today. The phones will hit the shelves in Singapore from 7 April (Huawei P20 Pro in Twilight will be in stores end-April, 2018). Prices and specifications below.

In Singapore, three colours (Black, Midnight Blue & Pink Gold) will be available for the Huawei P20. There’ll also be three colours (Black, Midnight Blue & Twilight) available for the Huawei P20 Pro.

Event forecast: IFA Global Press Conference 2018 in Rome, Italy

IFA this year will be from 31 August – 5 September, 2018. As in previous years, the annual consumer electronics & home appliances show will be preceded by a preview cum global press conference for the media from 19-22 April.

This year’s IFA GPC will be in Rome, Italy (19-22 April, 2018). Venues in the past have included Dubrovnik in Croatia (2012), Sardinia in Italy (2013), and Belek in Turkey (2014).

During the IFA GPC, some of the IFA exhibitors and partners get to show a preview of their IFA offerings and pitch to the international media what their brands offer to consumers.

Huawei unveils new P20 series flagship Android smartphones

Huawei has unveiled in Paris, France the new P20 and P20 Pro smartphones. These two new flagship models promise to continue Huawei’s focus on camera prowess in collaboration with Leica.

The black Huawei nova 2 lite (S$298) will debut in Singapore at the IT Show on 15 March, while the blue version will be available from end-March 2018.

The HUAWEI nova 2 lite introduces Face Unlock – a high-precision facial recognition technology that is powered by an AI algorithm to automatically detect up to 1,024 points on the human face and perform high-accuracy mapping.

This feature lets users unlock their screens in less than 900 milliseconds using facial recognition.

The HUAWEI nova 2 lite also has a party trick for singing enthusiasts – Karaoke Mode.

This feature enables users to hear their own voice when singing into the microphone on their headsets, akin to being in a recording studio.

Considering the entry-level price, the specs looks more like a mid-tier smartphone.
