Leica has just unveiled globally its fourth and latest dedicated black-and-white shooter – the M11 Monochrom rangefinder. Retail price in Singapore: S$13,470.

Thanks to Leica Singapore, I had the opportunity last week to try out the M11 Monochrom for myself prior to today’s global unveiling. I am partial to black-and-white photography and have always loved the toning of Leica cameras. The M11 Monochrom did not disappoint, churning out Magnum-like shots ready for Pullitzer prize-winning stories.
The 4th generation of monochrome sensor Leica cameras offers maximum artistic freedom and flexibility in composing images with nothing but light and shadow.
With its BSI CMOS sensor specially designed for black-and-white photography and its enormous sensitivity range of ISO 125 to 200,000, the Leica M11 Monochrom boasts images with the finest detail, extremely high contrast and exceptional, natural sharpness.
The new Leica M11 Monochrom (right) looks identical to its sibling, the Leica M11. The former however has an all black paint finish and does not show the bright red Leica logo on the front of the camera.
It also offers the option of switching between 60, 36 and 18 MP at any time through pixel binning.
The camera has a built-in 256GB internal memory and a USB-C port.

Jonathan Wright at Keysight Technologies demystifies AI by deconstructing the hyperbolic myths that arise in the absence of easy to comprehend information about its development and use cases.

“Conquer Testing Complexities with Automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI)” — a thought leadership paper commissioned by Keysight Technologies.
The concept of intelligent machines has resulted in marketing misrepresentation diluting the true power of artificial intelligence (AI) — especially in the software space.
A recent Forrester report commissioned by Keysight identified a paradoxical relationship between the interest in and adoption of AI in the software space.

About the Author: Jonathan Wright is the Chief Technology Evangelist at Keysight Technologies and renowned AI expert. Jonathan is involved in the standards-setting bodies establishing guiding principles governing the development and use of this important emerging technology.
It suggests there is a willingness to embrace AI-enablement in furthering digital transformation, but few have begun to do so.
The report indicates that 45 per cent of software executives are considering adopting AI for their software within the next three years.
This contrasts with the 11 per cent of technology firms that are currently using it today.
We are in an age of people slapping AI on a product to describe its overall functionality when it is only one subset of a small function that may use an AI algorithm that has been developed.
This is amidst the hype surrounding AI and the inevitable use of it in marketing to sell AI-enabled products as a magic bullet solution to every imaginable challenge.
Understandably, software executives are approaching this promise with skepticism, resulting in the curious paradox.
Demystifying AI
At the root of this paradox is a misunderstanding about what AI is, how it works, and where the technology is in its development.

Sandeep Kapoor – Director of Demand and Channel Marketing at Keysight Technologies – shares his insights into how the next evolution of humankind will be driven by advanced technology.

Revolutionary inventions pave the way for future technological innovations
In 2022, the world celebrated the 75th anniversary of the well-known device, the transistor, and the 65th anniversary of another stellar device, the integrated circuit.
Since then, we have evolved from a single amplifier block to a 3000-transistor wafer in the 1970s to a nanometer process that can accommodate 50 billion transistors onto a chip the size of a fingernail.
Charles Darwin made this historic statement 153 years ago: “From so simple a beginning, endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.”
The quote from his book, On the Origin of the Species, is quite apt today when applied to emerging technologies, such as 5G, autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and the digital twin.
In the last 35 years, the semiconductor market grew from over US$30 billion to more than US$600 billion, creating millions of employment opportunities.
60 years ago, the Mansfield News Journal correctly predicted the future in an article with the headline: “You’ll be able to carry [your] phone in [a] pocket in the future.”
Exactly 20 years after that, Motorola launched the first commercially available cellular phone, DynaTac 8000X, costing US$3995, weighing around 1 kg, and providing 30 minutes of talk time per charging cycle for 1G networks.
Emerging technologies mature as life-altering advances continue
The evolution continues as 5G networks overcome design challenges to enable <1 ms latency and up to 20 Gbps speed.

Product Positioning
The current A3 colour printer market is dominated by business printers producing 30-50 pages per minute.
Epson’s existing A3 colour printers consist of the Workforce Pro Replaceable Ink Pack System (RIPS) Printer, which prints at 26 pages per minute, and the Line Inkjet (LIJ) Printer which prints at 60 to 100 pages per minute.
Epson’s first physical event after the pandemic began, at its regional HQ in Singapore.
Introducing the new WorkForce Enterprise AM series allows Epson to address the current gap in the market in the 30-60ppm range, while offering consumers an alternative to laser printing options.

Belkin makes reliable and well-built accessories that help users get the most out of their gadgets and devices.

Belkin is the Best Accessories Brand of 2022 in the tech4tea.com Best-in-Class Awards this year.
Living in the digital age, we are equipped with many electronic devices that enable us to get work done and enjoy our lives.
These range from smartphones which help us stay in touch, to computers which help us get work done, and tablets that provide entertainment and productivity on the go.
When it comes to accessories, Belkin is the go-to brand for us in tech4tea.com, not only because of the added functionality these accessories add to the devices they are connected to, but equally important is their quality of manufacture.
It is therefore the pleasure of tech4tea.com to bestow the “Best Accessories Brand of 2022” award to Belkin as part of our annual “Best-in-Class” awards.
The Achilles heel of these gadgets is always the limitations in their battery capacities to keep them powered up for as long as possible.
At the same time, there is the desire to multiply the usefulness of each device by enabling it to be connected to other devices and peripherals.
This is where the IT accessories that Belkin makes come in most useful – whether it’s for quick and safe charging of devices, or connection hubs to expand the connectivity of these devices.
And whether it’s for work from home/office, or for mobile warriors on the go.
We’ve all heard of horror stories about accessories which breakdown after a short period of use – or worse: how they can damage the devices they are connected to.
At tech4tea.com, our experience with Belkin has been that they simply work out of the box and last a lifetime.
