Xiaomi has opened its eighth authorised store in Singapore at Waterway Point, with launch promotions of up to 50% off selected AIoT products.
Xiaomi’s 140-square-metre store is situated in Waterway Point, a family and lifestyle shopping mall in Punggol. It is located at B1-41/42 (East Wing) and is open everyday from 11am to 9pm. Photo credit: Xiaomi Singapore.
In the store, consumers can physically try out Xiaomi’s smartphones and the array of AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) products Xiaomi sells, as well as accompanying accessories.
As part of the store’s launch, a series of special promotions are available from 14 – 16 May 2022, while stocks last.

Huawei held a special sneak preview for select media on some of the health and fitness wearables that they plan to launch later this month.
The new Huawei Watch GT3 Pro in Titanium (Left) and Ceramic White.
The wearables featured during the briefing included the following.
- Huawei Watch GT3 Pro
- Huawei Band 7
- Huawei Watch Fit 2
- Huawei Watch D
Huawei Watch Fit 2, Active Edition in Isle Blue Silicone Strap.
The new products covered a large spectrum of people ranging from those who just want some basic health data, to fitness enthusiasts who want in-depth data to hone their training; as well as the health conscious who want to measure detailed data about their health, such as blood pressure and heartbeat characteristics.
Later in the month, Huawei is expected to officially launch these devices together with additional products such as the Huawei Mate Xs 2 folding phablet and the Huawei S-Tag tagging accessory.

The 2022 lineup that Sony Electronics is introducing for its Bravia XR televisions features XR Backlight Master Drive Technology for the new Mini LED models. Price & Availability below.
The new Bravia XR television series from Sony Electronics includes the MASTER Series A90K and A80K 4K OLED models, the X95K 4K Mini LED model and X90K 4K LED model.
Powered by Cognitive Processor XR, the XR Backlight Master Drive precisely controls the latest generation Mini LED backlight in the X95K series for “incredible” brightness.
“Sony is committed to offering the best viewing experience possible, no matter the at-home environment or content selection. With best-in-class picture and sound quality, our new TVs enhance any on-screen streaming and gaming content to create a powerfully immersive big-screen experience,” said Melvin Pang, Head, Field Marketing Division, Sony South East Asia.
Sony boasts that the new technology allows viewers to “enjoy an unprecedented dynamic range with incredibly dazzling lights and deep blacks, as well as beautifully natural mid tones with almost no flare or halos around highlights”.

The world is coming to terms with having to live with COVID-19 for a while to come. Apart from population-level vaccination to enhance our resistance against the disease, how can we make our living and working environment safer from the SARS-COV-2 virus that causes the disease?

However, the pandemic shows no sign of slowing down, following the scourge of the Delta variant which swept across the earth, as well as the current Omicron variant.
“For true endemic living, I want to be able to attend concerts, work out at a gym, watch an indoor sports event and visit a public bathroom knowing that the air I’m breathing is safe from the SARS-COV-2 virus. All these aspirations can be fulfilled through air disinfection solutions harnessing UV-C technology – in conjunction with wearing masks, social distancing and vaccination.”
Even though no end is in sight for the pandemic, life and business must go on. Governments and companies need a solution that will provide employees and citizens with a safe working and public environment that is protected from COVID-19.

I believe we are ready to embark on this new phase of the pandemic, because we are equipped with the know-how and wherewithal to live safely and normally despite COVID-19. We now know that the reason COVID-19 is so contagious is that it can be transmitted over the air.
