TomTom’s latest navigation device is in Singapore. The Start50 GPS is normally priced at S$199 but will be available at COMEX 2015 at S$169.

The new TomTom Start50 ships with Lifetime Maps, Quick Search function and Advanced Lane Guidance. With a 5” capacitive touch screen, drivers can tap anywhere on the map for an instant route to their destination.
The 5-inch TomTom Start50 GPS features Lifetime Maps of Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

The TomTom Bandit lets action fans record wide-angled HD videos. Its cable-free battery stick allows three hours of non-stop filming, together with built-in sensors to record Speed, G-force, Altitude, Rotation and Heartbeat.
The TomTom Bandit Action Camera is the first camera to come with a built-in media server, making editing and sharing videos quick and easy.

TomTom will be at Booth 305, Level 3 at Suntec Singapore during COMEX 2015 from 3-6 September, 2015.

The Lenovo VIBE Shot ships with a 16-megapixel main camera, 5-inch Full HD screen, 32GB storage and 3GB RAM. It is now available in Singapore from Lazada online at S$479.

The Lenovo VIBE Shot is now available online on Lazada Singapore (S$479). Only the Carmine Red version is available at present.
The VIBE Shot is the flagship model in Lenovo’s smartphone lineup and is positioned to offer value-for-money in terms of the technical specifications of the phone viz its pricing.

The phone is also available in other ASEAN countries while a variant version of the model, with the localised network bands is also available in China.
Lenovo is especially proud of the camera on the VIBE Shot – note the name of the phone – and is banking on that as a major selling point to the growing hordes of smartphone photographers.
Like a standalone shooter, the VIBE Shot features a dedicated shutter button, which can be used to instantly activate the camera function to snap a quick photo.
Lenovo boasts that the on-board infrared auto-focusing (AF) system is twice as fast as a conventional autofocus, while the tri-color LED flash ensures more realistic skin tones.
Meanwhile, superior low-light performance and clarity for shooting images in darker interiors or at night are supported by a 16:9 BSI sensor.

The two new RZ Series 7.2-channel network A/V receivers from Onkyo are enabled with DTS:X & Dolby Atmos support. Both the TX-RZ900 (S$2,899) and TX-RZ800 (S$2,299) are now available in Singapore.

Samsung has unveiled globally their latest flagship phablets. Both have 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED displays and 4GB RAM. Prices and availability in Singapore below.

So the “basic flagship” is the Galaxy S6, with the other models being variants offering curved edges, bigger displays and stylus.
The Note 5 offers, as its main differentiator the S Pen stylus, but is essentially on the same hardware/software platform as the S6 series of smartphones.

The National Day Parade usually sees a spectacular display of fireworks at the end of the display. Canon Imaging Academy shares three tips to capturing great photos of fireworks.

Shooting great snapshots of fireworks is not difficult, as long as you spend a little time preparing ahead. Today’s tip is on what to prepare and how to go about it. Photo credit: Canon Imaging Academy.

The tower has eight sides and has three levels demarcated with Doric pilasters. Photo taken using a Canon EOS M3 and 18-55mm kit lens. Photo credit: John Tan.
On the lowest of three levels of the tower are eight cinquefoil windows with coloured glass panes which let light through to the interior.
The middle level has pilasters and capitals below a balustrade with bottleneck balusters.
