The new Google Pixel 8 Pro (S$1,549) and Pixel 8 (S$1,099) hit the shelves in Singapore today. Here are the main features that we’ve tried out thus far. Check out also the differences in specs between the two phones.

The Google Pixel 8 Pro is the flagship model from Google sporting the new Google Tensor G3 processor to put Google AI in the center of everything that happens in the phone.
It has a stunning 6.7-inch Super Actua display which is brighter than previous Pixels and makes images and videos more vivid and pleasing to the eyes.

It intelligently adjusts from as low as one to 120Hz to juggle between performance during gaming and power efficiency when a high update rate is not needed.

The Leica ZM 11 will be retailing at €6,800 for the Leica ZM 11 Steel (paired with rubber or fabric band); and €8,150 for the Leica ZM 11 Titanium with full titanium band, including VAT. Available only at Leica Store Raffles Hotel Arcade from 23rd November 2023.
The ZM 11 Collection comprises three timepieces with the choice of three band options: the ZM 11 Titanium Launch Edition, limited to 250 watches, with a black and red dial; the ZM 11 Titanium Coffee Black with a warm-black dial; and the ZM 11 Steel Midnight Blue with a blue and black dial.
The new ZM 11 is engineered by Leica’s partner Chronode, the Swiss movement developer.
The automatic Leica Calibre LA-3001 has a precision of -4/+6 seconds per day and 60 hours of run time.
The ZM 11 is measured in five positions for accuracy at all times, and is adorned with 35 jewels.

The new Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 (S$38) will hit the shelves in Singapore on 20 October 2023.
The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 will be available in Black or White and will be available from local telecommunication operators, Samsung Online Store, Samsung Experience Stores, Samsung Official Store on Lazada and Shopee, and major consumer electronics & IT stores.
Galaxy SmartTag2’s brand-new Lost Mode allows users to input their contact information via a message.
Anyone who discovers an item with a Galaxy SmartTag2 attached can use their smartphone to scan the tag and see the owners’ message and contact information.
New Modes Mean Longer-Lasting Battery
Users can now enjoy Galaxy SmartTag2 for longer with the brand-new Power Saving Mode, available alongside an improved Normal mode.
For users who rely on SmartTag to continually track items, Power Saving Mode is the perfect option to maintain battery life while ensuring you can keep an eye on your things.
With Power Saving Mode, Galaxy SmartTag2’s battery now lasts up to 700 days, more than twice as long as previous Galaxy SmartTag models.
Even in Normal Mode, battery life is now extended to 500 days, a 50% increase on previous models. With the flexibility to switch between two modes, users can track their valuables – from car keys to bikes – for longer.
This means a Galaxy SmartTag2 attached to a pet’s collar is now a convenient way to ensure the pet owner’s phone number is always there, in most places where the pet might wander.
Lost Mode works with any mobile device with NFC reader and web browser.
Galaxy SmartTag2 now provides an improved Compass View feature, enhancing the user experience by providing arrows to show the direction and distance of the Galaxy SmartTag2 in relation to the user.
This mode is available on any UWB-supported Galaxy smartphone, such as the Galaxy Z Fold5.
The SmartThings Find app has also been upgraded, with newly registered Galaxy SmartTags that now installs a shortcut to the app on the user’s smartphone, allowing users to launch SmartThings Find more quickly.
Additionally, the app now features a full screen map view and an intuitive interface, making the user experience even more seamless.

Google has unveiled new Pixel personal devices which will be coming to Singapore: Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones, Pixel Watch 2, and upgraded Pixel Buds Pro. Prices and availability below.
The latest Pixel devices from Google: Pixel 8 (S$1,099) and Pixel 8 Pro (S$1,5549), Pixel Watch 2 (S$525), and upgraded Pixel Buds Pro (S$299).
The new devices were only just announced during the Made by Google event.
The Pixel 8 (S$1,099) and Pixel 8 Pro (S$1,549) leverages AI for a better user experience, powered by the Google Tensor G3 chip.
At today’s Singapore launch of the new Pixel devices from Google.
Sporting metal finishes and recycled materials, the two phones feature bright screens, a temperature sensor and upgraded camera systems.

Samsung has launched the FE Series of mobile gadgets positioned between the traditional flagship and mid-tiered devices – Galaxy S23 FE phone, Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablet, and Galaxy Buds FE earbuds. Prices and availability below.
Call it what you will – a top-end mid-tier or an entry flagship – the FE series targets Samsung fans who desire flagship features at a more affordable price.
The Galaxy S23 FE phone will be available for purchase online for Singapore from 10 October 2023, and in-store from 20 October – at a price of S$888 (128GB) and S$988 (256GB).
The S23 FE is available in Mint, Cream, Graphite, and Purple; with two additional colours of Indigo and Tangerine only available online.
The Galaxy Tab S9 FE series tablets are available from S$669 to S$1,019 in Singapore from 20 October.
The Tab S9 FE is available in Mint and Grey while the Tab S9 FE+ is available in Silver.
The Galaxy Buds FE earbuds will also be available in Singapore from 20 October at S$158.
The earbuds will come in Graphite and White.

The sporty Huawei Watch GT 4 will come in two sizes: 46mm (four strap options) and 41mm (three strap options) – with prices ranging from S$298–S$498, depending on the strap. Pre-orders begin 5 October 2023 with the watches hitting the shelves in Singapore on 13 October.
The Huawei Watch GT 4 will come in two sizes and seven strap options.
Unveiled during Huawei’s “Wearable Strategy and New Product Launch” event in Barcelona on 14th September 2023, the Huawei Watch GT 4 will hit Singapore shelves on 13 October, with pre-orders opening on 5 October.
The 46mm version has an octagonal dial design while the 41mm has a round pendant design.
There are four strap options for the bigger version and three for the more dainty version.

The Leica SOFORT 2 (S$580) is now available at the official Leica Singapore stores and authorised dealers in black or white. The red variation is only available through the Leica Online Store from 9 November.
The SOFORT 2 is Leica’s second iteration of the instant camera.
The Leica SOFORT 2 is able to save the digital photos it captures permanently.
The hybrid camera can print selected photos it takes as well as photos on your smartphone and those captured with other Leica cameras which are stored in the gallery of the Leica FOTOS app.
Accessories for the Leica SOFORT 2 include stylish wooden picture frames for displaying prints, wrist straps, carrying straps, bags and various other accessories.
Pulling the manual printing lever on the SOFORT 2 begins printing on instax Mini format photo paper.

The Roborock Q Revo robot vacuum mop retails in Singapore at S$1,299.90 on its official stores on Lazada and Shopee. Purchase during online promotions to enjoy substantial discounts of the RRP. Dog & plant not included.
So robot home cleaners started out as just autonomous vacuum cleaners which do the basic task of being able to cover the entire floor area of wherever it has been put to work – to suck up dust and dirt into the dustbin onboard the robot.
Then a mop cloth was slapped on with a water dispenser to keep the cloth wet, so that the robot could mop the floor surface.

Robot vacuum mops were simple, usually round, devices with a charging dock.
In these early days, some didn’t vacuum too well while others didn’t mop too cleanly, they got easily stuck and many weren’t able to cover the entire floor area properly.
Overtime, these basic performances improved while new features were added, mainly to the dock station.
Their price tags also escalated correspondingly.

Today, docking stations can automatically refill the water container onboard the robot, wash the mop cloths, and empty the dustbin onboard during a cleaning session and at the end of it.
The latest trend is the ability of the dock to dry the mop cloth after each mopping session.
I’ve been using the Q Revo from Roborock for a while now – it does ALL of the things described above and does them well – all at a price lower than the arm-and-a-leg that other flagship models on the market today cost.

The Xiaomi 13T Series is in Singapore, with prices ranging from S$699 (Xiaomi 13T) to S$1,099 (Xiaomi 13T Pro).
Xiaomi 13T Pro and Xiaomi 13T will be available in three color options: Alpine Blue, Meadow Green, and Black.
Both the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro sport a triple camera setup featuring Summicron lenses co-engineered with Leica.
These include a 50MP wide angle camera with 24mm equivalent focal length and a 7P aspherical lens designed to capture more light supporting high dynamic range shooting, a 50MP telephoto lens with 50mm equivalent focal length, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 15mm equivalent focal length.
