The Galaxy Note10 (6.8”) & Note 10+ (6.3”) will hit the shelves on 23 August with enhanced S Pen and “pro-grade” camera.

The Note10 & Note 10+ were unveiled this morning during Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2019 in New York on 7 August at 4pm EDT.
The Galaxy Note10 starts at US$950 while the Note10+ starts at US$1,100, slightly more expensive than the S10 smartphone which ranges between US$900 to US$1,000.
First looks and hands on the Samsung Galaxy Note10 (S$1,398) and Galaxy Note10+ (S$1,598/S$1,898 for 256GB/512GB respectively) which will be available in Singapore from 24 August, 2019.
The previous Note9 has a 6.4-inch display while the current S10 is around the same size as the 6.3” Note10 with slightly less screen size.
The new phablets charge via a USB-C port which doubles up as an audio port as the 3.5mm headphone jack is gone.
Samsung first introduced the Galaxy Note series 8 years ago in 2011 – its differentiators were its large size and the stylus pen.
The latest iteration is the ninth, because Samsung skipped Note 6 altogether to align its numbering with its other flagship line, the S series of smartphones.
Samsung typically launches the S series in February and the Note series in late summer.
The Note10 has four cameras (1 front and 3 rear) – the three rear cameras comprising a 16MP ultra wide (123°), a 12MP wide-angle (77°) and a 12MPtelephoto (45°).
The front camera has 10 megapixels at 80° field of view.
The Note10+ has one extra rear camera (1 front and 4 rear) – the DepthVision camera.
The other cameras are the same in both versions.
The key specs for the Note10 and Note10+ are summarised below.

More details have been released by Samsung for Galaxy Note7 users in Singapore, covering the refund value for the Note7, trade-in prices to the S7 Edge, as well as refund for original Note7 accessories. This is in addition to earlier information Samsung Singapore had released earlier.

All Galaxy Note7 customers are required to back up their data using Samsung Smart Switch (http://www.samsung.com/sg/support/smartswitch/), delete any data or other personal material stored in the device, and reset their device ahead of the home delivery.
Galaxy Note7 customers who opt to exchange their device for a Galaxy S7 edge, valued at S$1,098, will receive an additional S$250 in cheque.
Those who opt for a refund will receive the full retail value of the Galaxy Note7 at S$1,168 in cheque.
Both options are available to all Galaxy Note7 customers, regardless if they purchased their original device from telecommunication operators, consumer electronics stores, authorised retailers, Samsung Official Store at Lazada.sg or Samsung Experience Stores.
The options also do not affect any pre-existing contract that the Galaxy Note7 owner has with the telecommunication operators.
Details below.

Samsung Electronics Singapore has announced details of the exchange and refund options for Galaxy Note7 customers.
Update (18 October, 2016):
More details have been released by Samsung for Galaxy Note7 users in Singapore, covering the refund value for the Note7, trade-in prices to the S7 Edge, as well as refund for original Note7 accessories.
This is in addition to earlier information Samsung Singapore had released earlier.
Update (15 October, 2016):
Following the new order by the U.S. Department of Transportation to ban all Galaxy Note7 devices in carry-on and checked baggage on flights, Samsung Singapore has rolled out plans to help Note7 owners in Singapore who need to board flights out of the country.
Any Galaxy Note7 owner who will be travelling by flight and require a courtesy device can obtain one from the Samsung Customer Service Centre at Westgate or the Samsung Experience Store at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3, in both the departure and transit lounges.

Samsung has stopped sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7, and has also decided to stop production.
Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note7 or replacement Galaxy Note7 should power down and stop using the device immediately, and take advantage of the exchange and refund options.
This is regardless of whether they had purchased their devices from telecommunication operators, consumer electronics stores, authorised retailers, Samsung Official Store at Lazada.sg or Samsung Experience Stores.
Galaxy Note7 customers can choose to either exchange their device for a Galaxy S7 edge, and receive cash and other benefits which will be confirmed shortly, or to receive a refund.
Details below.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be available in Singapore from 20 August at S$1,168. Pre-orders / registration of interest (with M1, Singtel, StarHub) begin today with delivery on 19 August. Free Note 7 Lens Kit (S$198) for pre orders.

The newest flagship phablet from Samsung has a 5.7-inch Quad HD Dual Edge SUPER AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 (518ppi). The Galaxy Note 7 ships with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The Galaxy Note series skips a number and goes directly from Note 5 to Note 7.
The latest flagship model is now in line with the Galaxy S7 to reduce confusion among consumers.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is available in Black Onyx, Gold Platinum, or Silver Titanium.
More importantly, Samsung is probably hoping that some of the success of the S7 will rub off on the Note 7 and continue turning around the fortunes of the Korean phone maker.
Prices of accessories
- LED View Cover: S$78
- S View Standing Cover: S$68
- Clear View Cover: S$68
- Leather Cover: S$48
- Backpack: S$128
- Starter Kit: S$168
* All prices include GST.
So the most “eye-catching” – forgive the pun – new feature must be the iris-scanner, another security to ensure only the right eyes get to eyeball the contents of the Note 7.
I tried it during the launch and it’s mighty fast and responsive, removing my initial reservation that it might be slow and wonky.
The S Pen also gets enhanced, software wise.
New functionalities include Screen Off Memo, Smart Select function, Air Command and Samsung Notes, as well as the ability to create and share GIF animations.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 comes with Dual SIM support, where one of the two nano-SIM slots can be used to accept a microSD memory card (up to 256GB) instead. This will extend the 64GB internal memory that comes with the phone.
Also, the Galaxy Note 7 and its S Pen are now both IP68-certified water and dust resistant, so you can now use them underwater – if you want/need to.
More details and technical specifications in the press release below.
