To launch the new season’s collection, Raoul is giving away shopping vouchers and limited edition canvas tote bags with this season’s signature flower motif to IQNECT app users.
The Raoul FW14 collection pays homage to Wiener Werkstatte – a progressive alliance of artists and designers founded in 1897.
Some of the more conscious and graphic approaches to the design ideals of this movement inspired the strict black and ivory diamond-shaped graphics in linear silhouettes along with the overblown flower motifs.

Last Friday, I brought the two kids to the Alive Museum Singapore at the Suntec City Mall.
* All photos (apart from the first photo) were taken with the Sony A7R full-frame mirrorless interchangeable lens camera with Sonnar T* FE 35mm F2.8 ZA Full-frame E-mount Prime Lens.
Fun Friday night out at Alive Museum Singapore. Photo taken with Samsung GALAXY S5.
Although the estimated time needed to cover every exhibit was around one-and-a-half hours, we lingered for two-and-a-half and ended up with 250 photos.
More importantly, we had oodles of fun and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
“Can I join the ballerinas in the painting?”
The Alive Museum was opened in 2009 in South Korea and debuted in Singapore on 12 June this year.
Taken from the right perspective, this exhibit gives the illusion that sea water and penguins were flooding out of the painting.
The 3D visual illusion museum aims to serve as a fun and unique treat for the whole family, locals and tourists alike.
It offers a sensory experience that tricks one’s visual, physical and environmental perceptions, bringing fantasy to reality.
Not only can you touch and feel the exhibits, you can also hop into the frame and become a part of the art masterpieces that play on optical illusions.

French kithen appliance maker, Tefal, has launched the ActiFry in Singapore.
“This entire plate of crispy fries, 1 tablespoon of oil. Delicious with my veggie burger….This machine Tefal ActiFry has changed my life and they are not paying me to say this!” ~ Twitter post on 19 February 2013 by Oprah Winfrey, along with a picture of her meal.
Six million units of the Tefal ActiFry have been sold worldwide
The Tefal ActiFry Family 1.5kg is versatile, convenient and cooks more healthily for the health-conscious family.
The Tefal ActiFry uses 97.5% less oil than a conventional deep fryer.
The ActiFry features a ceramic-coated, scratch resistant pan, allowing users to cook a wide range of food and also aids in making easy cleaning of the utensil.
In addition, the ActiFry is equipped with an automatic stirring paddle.
What I like is that even though it’s 170°C inside, the exterior of the ActiFry remains luke-warm to the touch, so there’s no worry of children scalding themselves by touching the appliance when in use.
So you can just throw in the rice and ingredients and let the ActiFry fry the fried rice for you, hands-free.
The patented pulsed hot air circulation system and electronic control of the heating system allow the appliance to maintain the heating temperature at a maximum of 170°C.
What does the online fashion/lifestyle retailer and the enterprise secure smartphone of choice have in common?
BlackBerry and ZALORA join hands to present a “Fashionably Bold” event.
A strong sense of style and the gut to make Bold fashion statements with their products, which is why both enjoy a growing following among the young and trendy in the region. And BBM is the buzzword that keeps them connected.

BlackBerry and ZALORA co-hosted a stylish event in Singapore to put forth a fashion show showcasing a unique set of looks developed by leading online fashion bloggers and inspired by BlackBerry’s Bold line of smartphones.

To celebrate the partnership between BlackBerry and ZALORA, anyone purchasing any BlackBerry smartphone through the various authorized partners, will receive a 15% discount from ZALORA Singapore, the island’s one-stop online shopping destination across fashion, beauty and home & décor.
Charles Dufourcq – Country Director for RIM, Singapore – looking fashionably bold.
“The individual styles inspired by the BlackBerry Bold portfolio truly showcase the diversity of the many collections on ZALORA,” said Terence Pang, Head of Marketing for ZALORA Singapore.
A vibrant and thriving night out
Local standup comedian, Kumar, being fashionably bold.
I popped in at the event (at 72-13 Mohammed Sultan Road) in the evening and the turnout was fantastic, thronging with both BlackBerry and ZALORA fans.
Everybody had a great laugh with local stand-up comedian Kumar’s act.
The fashion show was refreshing because the eight female and male models were not pros but lucky winners who had been chosen from an online contest earlier, based on the best poses that they had sent in.
They received their very own photo-shoot, makeover and runway tips from Miss Singapore Universe 2011, Ms Valerie Lim, who also choreographed the Fashionably Bold show.
Totally Fashionably Bold!
“Fashionably Bold showcases the popularity of the BlackBerry Bold portfolio in Singapore, while celebrating the lifestyle statement that both our black and white smartphones make. It is a celebration of functionality coupled with a unique sense of style that BlackBerry smartphones have,” said Charles Dufourcq, Country Director for RIM, Singapore.
