New arrivals: 32GB Nexus 7 (2013) LTE & Wi-Fi hits Singapore TODAY

The 32GB Nexus 7 (2013) LTE model (S$529) and Wi-Fi only model (S$429) from ASUS and Google are now available in Singapore TODAY. The 16GB Wi-Fi model (S$379) first debuted in Singapore last month.

In terms of technical specifications and physical dimensions, the new models are identical with the 16GB Wi-Fi model.

The new 32GB Wi-Fi model has twice the internal memory while the LTE model has 32GB plus LTE network connectivity.

The GALAXY Note 10.1 2014 Edition (32GB) will be available in Classic White from October 19, 2013 while the Jet Black version will be available from October 26.

Both colours will be available with the LTE version (S$998) and the Wi-Fi only version (S$798). Prices exclude line contract.

2013 Norton Report: Cost for each cybercrime victim up 75%

The Singapore findings from the 2013 Norton Report shows that while the number of online adults who have experienced cybercrime has decreased (from 48 percent in 2012 to 37 percent in 2013), the average cost per victim has risen by 75 percent (S$1,448 in 2013, up from S$826 in 2012).

Samsung GALAXY Note 3 launched in Singapore with GALAXY Gear

Customers swarmed the three Telcos – SingTel, StarHub and M1 – as the Samsung GALAXY Note 3 became available in Singapore. The phablet was also available at Samsung Experience Stores in Singapore.

“I have a Mac and an iPad, and I was seriously considering between the iPhone 5S and the Note 3. I thought it was easier to be in the same eco system with the 5S, but the Note 3 won me over with the new S Pen and its big screen, which is perfect for me when watching videos and playing games,” said James.

New arrivals: HP Ultrabook, tablet and hybrid in November

HP has unveiled the HP Spectre13 Ultrabook (S$1,799), HP Pavilion11 x2 transformer notebook/tablet hybrid (S$899) and the HP Slate7 Extreme (S$249) tablet- all expected to be available in Singapore in November 2013.

The new Nexus 7 boasts a sharp 1920 x 1200 Full HD Display with built-in wireless charging. The 7-inch Android tablet will be available in Singapore at S$379 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model from 21 September.

Developed by ASUS and Google, the new Nexus 7 is the first full-fledged Android tablet 7-inch Android 4.3 tablet in an extremely slim package, at only 8.65mm thick and 290g weight..

Plants vs. Zombies 2 Charity taco truck raises S$7,500

The roving charity taco truck from EA Mobile raised S$7,500 over a period of four days – to be donated to Club Rainbow Singapore.

Club Rainbow Singapore is a charity committed to providing help to children who are suffering from a range of chronic and life-threatening illnesses.

Life-sized zombie and plant mascots handed out tacos from the truck, which was parked at three locations from 5 – 8 September to the delight of both fans and on-looking visitors.

The three locations were Mapletree Business City, Cineleisure Orchard and Sentosa Beach Station.
