HP has launched its 2015 line-up of notebooks and tablets for businesses and enterprises. The wide range of computing devices will be available from end February till May 2015.

Amongst the new devices is the EliteBook Folio 1020 family – which HP touts as the industry’s thinnest and lightest business-class notebooks.

“The HP EliteBook 1020 represents game-changing innovation in both materials and mechanical engineering to create the world’s thinnest and lightest business notebooks in a form factor that enables our customers to be more productive in more places,” said Serena Yong, general manager, Printing and Personal Systems, HP Singapore and Malaysia.

The HP EliteBook 1020 and the HP EliteBook 1020 Special Edition (SE) are ultra-thin at 15.7 mm, and the SE takes advantage of HP’s exclusive blend of magnesium-lithium alloy and reusable carbon fiber to achieve a weight of only 1 kg (2.2 lbs).

New arrivals: HP Ultrabook, tablet and hybrid in November

HP has unveiled the HP Spectre13 Ultrabook (S$1,799), HP Pavilion11 x2 transformer notebook/tablet hybrid (S$899) and the HP Slate7 Extreme (S$249) tablet- all expected to be available in Singapore in November 2013.

HP Slate 7 Android tablet to hit Singapore on 6 June (S$199)

Following the availability of HP’s 10.1-inch ElitePad 900 Windows 8 tablet in Singapore 2 weeks ago, HP will be debuting their first Android tablet three weeks from now on 6 June.

Embedded with Beats Audio, the 7-inch tablet is an affordable consumer device for enjoying music on the go – with headphones that possibly cost more than the tablet itself.

In fact, the HP Slate7 is cheaper than Google-backed ASUS Nexus 7 that came out last year.

While the business-ready HP ElitePad on Windows 8 is targeted towards enterprises and governments, the HP Slate7 aims to be an entry point for for consumers.

The High-aperture-ratio Field Fringe Switching (HFFS) panel of the Slate7 offers wide viewing angles even in outdoor lighting conditions.

The Slate7 comes with HP ePrint application, which enables users to easily print at home or on the go via the Internet to a web-enabled printer.

There is also a native printing capability in the tablet to print directly from most applications.

In the run up to Windows 8 official release on October 26, Sony has revealed its Fall lineup of Intel-based VAIO notebooks running on the new operating system – including the VAIO Duo 11 slate that comes with sliding keyboard.

Available from November 2012. VAIO Duo 11 will be sold at S$1,999 (i5-3317U processor) and S$2,699 (i7-3517U). Prices for the other notebooks TBA.

A VAIO user can therefore download, edit and share photos/videos taken with a camera or smartphone and view them either on the Web or on a large TV.

The VAIO Duo 11 ultrabook can function as a flat slate but has a slide-out keyboard to become a laptop.

The new S Series models  has 5.5 hr battery life (additional 11 hr with optional extended battery) and a Dynamic Hybrid Graphics System that uses two graphics processors.

The two new T Series Ultrabooks has either SSD or hybrid HDD/SSD storage.

Powered by an Intel Core i5 processor and featuring an 11.6” screen, the powerful but portable Windows 7 device will be available this month at S$1,688.
