Dell has announced major updates across its Alienware gaming mobility family and peripheral ecosystem, including the world’s thinnest 14” gaming laptop; its most powerful 17-inch AMD Advantage gaming laptop; and the world’s first Quantum Dot OLED gaming monitor.
For extreme gaming performance that delivers a competitive edge, Dell boasts that the Alienware m17 R5 blasts past the competition as the most powerful 17-inch AMD Advantage gaming laptop in the world.
Highlights of Dell’s latest announcements for Alienware include the following.
- The new Alienware x14 – Alienware’s thinnest laptop to date, designed for mobile gamers who want excellent portability.
- Key upgrades to the improved Alienware x15 R2 and Alienware x17 R2, which include a new set of graphics options from NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series, 12th Gen Intel Core processors, faster memory, AlienFX stadium lighting and other features.
- The new Alienware m17 R5, the most powerful 17-inch AMD Advantage gaming laptop in the world and the first available laptop to feature AMD SmartAccess Graphics.

The new Galaxy S22 Series and Galaxy Tab S8 Series were unveiled during Samsung’s Unpacked 2022 event.

At its virtual “Gameverse” event during CES 2022, MSI unveiled new laptops powered by 12th Gen Intel Core H series processors and up to GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.
MSI’s new laptops are powered by 12th Gen Intel Core H series processors and up to GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.
MSI’s new laptops sport the Meta-ready logo and are equipped with Intel Core i7 or above processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or above.
MSI boasts that these new laptops are designed “for anyone who’d like to experience Metaverse-compatible performance”.

At a pre-show keynote event at CES 2022, Samsung Electronics unveiled its vision for the future – Together for Tomorrow. The company also showcased its 2022 TV and monitor lineup, and launched The Freestyle – a portable screen and entertainment device.
John-Hee Han, Vice Chairman, CEO and Head of DX (Device eXperience) Division at Samsung, sharing the company’s vision at a pre-show keynote event at CES 2022.
As part of its “Together for Tomorrow” vision, John-Hee Han highlighted its plans to build a more sustainable, customised and connected future with products and initiatives that minimise environmental impact, cater to consumers’ lifestyles, and make smart home experiences truly seamless.
Han is the Vice Chairman, CEO and Head of DX (Device eXperience) Division at Samsung.
For the company’s TV/monitor lineup, the vision is “Screens Everywhere, Screen for All” – focussing on life-like images, immersive sound, and hyper-personalised experiences for working gaming or watching content.
Samsung’s 2022 TV and monitor lineup will be available in Singapore from the second quarter of 2022 onwards.

The Sustainability prize for the 2021 James Dyson Award is Plastic Scanner – a low-cost, handheld device to identify plastic for recycling. It was invented by Jerry de Vos from TU Delft.
The low-cost, handheld Plastic Scanner tells you on the spot what type of plastic a product is made of.
Plastic is a lightweight, safe and readily available material which can be used to make long-lasting, durable products.
It has a bad reputation because it is often not thought to be recyclable and so ends up in landfill, or worse on the beach or in our oceans.

HOPES is the first entry from Singapore to win the international top prize in the 17 years’ history of the James Dyson Award.

HOPES, (which stands for Home eye Pressure E-skin Sensor) is a wearable biomedical device for pain-free, low cost, at-home IOP testing.
HOPES is a wearable biomedical device for pain-free, low cost, at-home intra-ocular pressure (IOP) testing.
This year’s International winner of the James Dyson Award was inspired by one of the inventors’, Kelu, father’s diagnosis of glaucoma.
The Problem
After witnessing his discomfort and multiple hospital visits, she realised there is a global need for a less invasive and more accessible method for Intraocular Pressure (IOP) monitoring.
Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness worldwide.
