May 2023 bring peace, happiness and good fortune to you and your loved ones.
Today is the fourth day of Christmas. Here’s the final Christmas card from my recent winter vacation in the Cotswolds. This post was first published on The Travel Memoir.
A view of fresh powdered snow from the warmth of the dining room in the little cottage we stayed in during our winter vacation in the Cotswolds in the United Kingdom. This photo was taken with a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone.
It had not snowed in the Cotswolds for a few years now so it was a pleasant surprise to see the neighbourhood blanketed with snow when we woke up one evening.
As a result, we got to see a side of the Cotswolds not usually experienced by tourists – a winter wonderland of charming cottages nestled in a snowy landscape.
Today is the third day of Christmas. Another Christmas card from my recent winter vacation in the Cotswolds. This post was first published on The Travel Memoir.
In the photo is this beautifully lit house on Church Street in Broadway, which we visited just after sunset.
May peace be with you and your loved ones Always.
In the photo is one of many charming cottages we admired during our tour of the Cotswolds in the UK this winter.
It’s Boxing Day and the second day of Christmas. Spare a thought for those who have been of service to you.
These two cheery “Gingerbread” couple welcomed us at the Church of St Peter and St Paul when we were returning to our cottage in the Cotswolds after dark and decided to take a walk around the village. This photo was taken with a Huawei Mate 50 Pro smartphone.
Boxing Day is a public holiday in many countries celebrating the day after Christmas.
According to Wikipedia, “though it originated as a holiday to give gifts to poor people, today Boxing Day forms part of Christmas celebrations, with many people choosing to take advantage of Boxing Day sales”.
The Oxford English Dictionary gives the earliest attestation from Britain in 1743, defining it as “the day after Christmas day”, and saying “traditionally on this day tradespeople, employees, etc., would receive presents or gratuities in the form of “Christmas Boxes” from their customers or employers.”
Here’s wishing everyone who celebrates Christmas a very Blessed X’mas!
We found this charming X’mas tree and fireplace in the House of MinaLima Harry Potter Shop in London, a collaboration between two graphic designers (Miraphora and Eduardo Lima) who created the entire graphic universe of the Harry Potter movies and the Wizarding World.
May peace be with you and your loved ones in this festive season.
Fans of Harry Potter must visit the House of MinaLima (in the Christmas Card above) when you visit London.
