Apple introduces the new Mac mini (starting from S$849) with M2 and the new M2 Pro chip. The new Mac mini with M2 chip starts from an affordable S$849.
The M2 Pro model (top) includes four Thunderbolt 4 ports and support for up to three displays; while the M2 model (bottom) features two Thunderbolt 4 ports and support for up to two displays.
The new M2 Pro chip boasts pro-level performance to Mac mini for the first time, enabling users to run high-performance workflows that were previously unimaginable in such a compact design.
Mac mini with M2 and M2 Pro promises faster performance, more unified memory, and advanced connectivity, including support for up to two displays on the M2 model, and up to three displays on the M2 Pro model.
For Intel-based upgraders, Mac mini with M2 promises up to 22x faster machine learning image upscaling performance in Pixelmator Pro.
Customers can order the new Mac mini models beginning Monday, January 30.

Apple unveiled the new iMac as part of its slew of gadgets and services in its Spring Event 2021, globally broadcast from California. Prices and availability below.
Plenty of vibrant colours to choose from for the new M1-powered Apple iMac.
This is the first iMac to ship with Apple’s new M1 CPU.
Orders begin on Friday, 30 April, with availability in the second half of May.
“M1 is a gigantic leap forward for the Mac, and today we’re excited to introduce the all-new iMac, the first Mac designed around the breakthrough M1 chip. With its striking design in seven stunning colours, its immersive 4.5K Retina display, the best camera, mics, and speakers ever in a Mac, and Touch ID, combined with the amazing performance of M1 and the power of macOS Big Sur, the new iMac takes everything people love about iMac to an entirely new level,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
The new iMac joins the Apple’s family of Mac models powered by M1, including MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini, taking another step in Apple’s transition to Apple’s own silicon.
The new iMac is only 11.5mm thin and comes with a large choice of vibrant colours.
It features a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display with 11.3 million pixels, 500 nits of brightness, and over a billion colours.
The new iMac also includes a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, studio-quality mics, and a six-speaker sound system — the best camera and audio ever in a Mac.
Also, Touch ID comes to iMac for the first time, making it easier to securely log in, make purchases with Apple Pay, or switch user profiles with the touch of a finger.
The combined power and performance of M1 and macOS Big Sur in the iMac renders demanding workloads like editing 4K video and working with huge images faster, making the iMac suited for those working or studying at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apple launched a slew of computers and tablets powered by its own M1 processor, as well as new services – as it targets users working and schooling at home. Prices and availability below.
The new iMac (left) and iPad Pro, both with the new M1 chip, were among the products unveiled at Apple’s Spring Event 2021.
The new products and services were launched by Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook in a recorded video broadcast from California.
“The revolutionary M1 chip has been a breakthrough for the Mac, and we’re incredibly excited to bring it to iPad Pro, … and the all-new iMac,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
The new iPad Pro, iMac and Apple TV 4K will be open for orders beginning 30 April with availability in the second half of May in more than 30 countries and regions, including the US.
Apple also introduced a new Purple finish for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini.
The new colour, as well as the AirTag will begin pre-orders on 23 April, with availability from 30 April.

Apple has launched a new MacBook Air, the 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini – powered by its latest in-house developed M1 chip. Price & Availability below.
Apple says that with M1, things users do every day on the Mac feel noticeably faster and smoother.
The new M1 SoC (Systen on a Chip) is the first in a family of chips designed by Apple specifically for the Mac.
With M1 and Big Sur, users get access to the biggest collection of apps for Mac.

Following last month’s big launch of the iPhone 6, Tim Cook has just introduced the new iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3 ahead of the holiday shopping season.
Apple also unveiled a new 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display (from S$3,388), updated the Mac mini and made OS X Yosemite available today as a free upgrade.
The new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 are available in three metallic finishes: gold, silver and space grey.
This is the second big launch for Apple close on the heels of the iPhone 6 launch last month.

The iPad Air 2 is only 6.1mm thin and weighs less than 450g, featuring improved Retina display for enhanced contrast and richer, more vibrant colours, and better cameras for taking stunning photos and videos.
The new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 offer Touch ID so users can unlock their iPad with the touch of a finger.

This is Tim Cook’s second Apple WWDC at the helm of Apple, with a slew of announcements after a dearth of new products.

The annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) this year is being held from June 10 – 14 at San Francisco’s Moscone West.
Tickets went on sale on 26 April earlier this year – with each ticket going for US$1,599.
