CES 2024: AMD Introduces New Automotive AI Processor Chips

CES 2024: AMD is introducing two new devices – the Versal AI Edge XA adaptive SoC and Ryzen Embedded V2000A Series processor – for next-generation automotive systems.

Working alongside a growing automotive partner ecosystem, AMD will demonstrate at CES 2024 the broad range of capabilities and applications for these new devices in automotive solutions available today and in the future.

The Versal AI Edge XA adaptive SoC and Ryzen Embedded V2000A Series processor are designed to serve key automotive focus segments including infotainment, advanced driver safety and autonomous driving.

Versal AI Edge XA adaptive SoCs are also the first AMD 7nm device to be auto-qualified, bringing hardened IP and added security to automotive applications where safety is paramount.

Ryzen Embedded V2000A Series processors power the next-generation automotive digital cockpit, from the infotainment console to the digital cluster and passenger displays.

The expansion of the AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000A Series brings the first x86 auto-qualified processor family to offer the same PC-like experience consumers have come to expect from home entertainment which they can now enjoy in-vehicle, on the go.

AMD to Acquire Open-Source AI Software Expert Nod.ai

Nod.ai is set to accelerate deployment of optimised AI solutions on AMD high-performance platforms and bolster AMD open-source software strategy.

“The acquisition of Nod.ai is expected to significantly enhance our ability to provide AI customers with open software that allows them to easily deploy highly performant AI models tuned for AMD hardware. The addition of the talented Nod.ai team accelerates our ability to advance open-source compiler technology and enable portable, high-performance AI solutions across the AMD product portfolio. Nod.ai’s technologies are already widely deployed in the cloud, at the edge and across a broad range of end point devices today,” said Vamsi Boppana, senior vice president, Artificial Intelligence Group at AMD.

Dell unveils expanded range of Precision series workstations

Increased performance, dependability and smart design for both entry-level and high-end workstation users.

The Dell Precision R7610 rack workstation is available now starting at S$3,258 and the Dell Precision T1700 Mini-Tower and Small Form-Factor will be available on June 4.

“Bid to Give” On-Site Auction of Notebooks for Charity

Spanking new notebooks were auctioned off on last evening with proceeds going to the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF).

Another 13 notebooks will be auctioned off tonight at the Funan DigitaLife Mall. These are part of a two-week campaign by the consumer electronics retailer, Newstead Technologies, and its partners.

Bidding for the notebooksDay 1 of the “Bid to Give” charity auction was held on Thursday evening. With starting bids of only S$199, all 14 notebooks were snapped up within the hour by warm-hearted contributors who attended the charity drive at the Main Atrium of Funan DigitaLife Mall.

Partners of Newstead Technologies who sponsored the notebooks include Microsoft Singapore, Acer, Asus, Dell, Fujitsu, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Panasonic, Samsung, Toshiba, AMD, Blackberry, Brightpoint, ECS, HTC, Huawei, Ingram Micro and Jos Distribution.

There will be another 13 notebooks up for auction tonight at 6pm at the same venue so you can still show up and contribute your share for charity.

The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund is an annual community project that provides pocket money to children from low-income families to help them through school. The children can use this money to buy a meal during recess, pay for their bus fares or use it to meet their other schooling needs.

In addition to Bid to Give, Newstead Technologies will also be donating $10 for every notebook sold and another $5 for every Microsoft Office 2010 purchased at its roadshow from May 5 to May 8 and at Newstead Technologies’ outlets at IMM #02-06, City Square Mall #04-20, Suntec City (e-life) #02-002/A and nex Mall #04-55 from May 9 to May 15. Newstead Technologies hopes to raise a total of $17,000 from the charity auction and sale of notebooks during this period.
