New arrivals: Leica T (Typ 701) mirrorless system camera

Created in collaboration with Audi Design, the Leica T will be launched with two lenses available: Leica Vario-Elmar-T 18–56 mm f/3.5–5.6 ASPH and Leica Summicron-T 23mm f/2 ASPH.

The Leica T was officially launched in Singapore today. The camera will be available in Singapore from 26 May 2014 at Leica Stores located at Raffles Hotel Arcade, Mandarin Gallery and ION Orchard.

Two additional lenses are also scheduled to appear in time for presentation at Photokina 2014 on 21 September.

The mirrorless interchangeable lens Leica T camera features a 16-megapixel APS-C-format, CMOS sensor.

It is the first system camera from Leica to feature an integrated Wi-Fi module.

Pictures and videos can be wirelessly transmitted straight from the camera to a smartphone, tablet or computer, and can then be shared by email, or on Facebook or other social media.

Dell adds Big Switch Networks to advance open networking initiative

Dell expects to begin offering switches with Big Switch Networks Switch Light operating system and the Big Switch Networks Big Tap Monitoring Fabric controller in the second quarter of 2014.

Dell’s open-networking initiative disrupts traditional networking switch model, enabling rapid innovation and customer choice through hardware and software disaggregation.

The strategic agreement that Dell signed with Big Switch Networks will expand its open ecosystem to provide customer choice for networking hardware and software.

It offers an alternative to “white-box” switching with Dell-branded, validated and integrated systems, global scale, logistics, and enterprise-class services.
