From today till Sunday, the first of the four large annual IT exhibitions in Singapore this year takes place for four days (10 – 13 Mar) at the SUNTEC Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, Level 3 (11am – 9pm) and Levels 4 & 6 (12 – 9pm). Admission FREE.
Highlights include extension of trade-in program to video games and TVs under 34-inch, pre-orders for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Limited Edition PlayStation 4 console bundle, over $35,000 of prizes to be won for PC gaming fans plus the latest jaw-dropping gadgets including the $6,000-plus Asus GX700 gaming laptop beast, the Sony α6300 mirrorless camera with the world’s fastest autofocus and the Lenovo Vibe X3 smartphone with in-built virtual reality smarts.

The three dimensional, immersive sound technology will debut at Golden Village Suntec City with the premiere of Jack Neo’s latest Chinese New Year comedy/ drama, “Long, Long Time Ago” on Thursday, 4 February.
Auro Technologies is a spin-off of the privately owned Galaxy Studios Group, renowned worldwide for its state-of-the-art leadership in audio innovation for music and sound for film.
Auro 11.1 by Barco. Auro 11.1 brings sound from all around and above to create a more impactful experience.
“Long, Long Time Ago” was natively mixed in the new immersive technology at Galaxy Studios Belgium.
We had the chance to experience the Auro 11.1 setup at the Golden Village cinema at Suntec City. It’s the first and only cinema in Singapore to have installed the system.
Auro 11.1 is touted as the most realistic 3D sound experience currently available in the market.
Unlike other technologies where speakers are placed only on a horizontal plane and directly above, the Auro 11.1 by Barco’s system uses a sound reproduction speaker layout based on three axes (x=width, y=depth, z=height) and three vertical layers (surround, height, top).

New technologies in the Paradigm Prestige loudspeakers include Perforated Phase-Aligning (PPA) Tweeter Lens that protects the delicate S-PAL tweeter dome and acts as the Phase Plug, blocking out-of-phase frequencies for smoother, extended high frequencies with greater detail and higher output.

The two new RZ Series 7.2-channel network A/V receivers from Onkyo are enabled with DTS:X & Dolby Atmos support. Both the TX-RZ900 (S$2,899) and TX-RZ800 (S$2,299) are now available in Singapore.

The new receivers feature Wide Range Amplifiers that extends to 5Hz, and elimination of digital pulse noise with its Low Noise Processing capabilities to produce clearer sound.
