FastCo, the company behind FastJobs, one of Asia’s non-executive job portal for both jobseekers and employers, today announced the official launch of its new app FastGig.
The launch of FastGig rides on the recent growth of the gig economy.
FastGig boasts that it is Singapore’s first “workforce as a service” (WaaS) platform that helps to match qualified flexible workers with businesses looking for solutions to headcount constraints and labour shortage, especially during seasonal peaks.
It claims to be one of the first job apps for gig workers in the Southeast Asian region.

The new Galaxy S22 Series and Galaxy Tab S8 Series were unveiled during Samsung’s Unpacked 2022 event.
The Galaxy S22 Series 5G comprises the following variants.
- Galaxy S22 5G
- Galaxy S22+ 5G
- Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G
The Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G has assimilated the Note series with a built-in S Pen.

Barely two weeks after MSI unveiled its latest gaming and creator laptops for CES, the company brought the 12th Generation machines to Singapore for a sneak preview to a select crowd.
The Creator series for content creators is one of the laptops in MSI’s CES lineups.

In addition to the latest hardware, the company is leveraging its MSI Center software with the intention of creating the smartest laptops ever.
This Pulse GL66 gaming laptop is one was one of the gaming laptops showcased as part of the MSI‘s 12th Gen lineup unveiled during CES2022.
MSI Smart Auto will auto switch the suitable modes depending on usage, while Ambient Silent AI will detect ambient noise level (dB) to adjust the fan speed, providing better performance with a relatively silent fan.

Huawei has launched the P50 Pro (S$1,548, from 22 January) and P50 Pocket (S$TBA, from 14 February) Premium Edition in Singapore. Promotions below.
Huawei Singapore launched the P50 Pro and P50 Pocket smartphones at the National Gallery in Singapore.
Both the Huawei P50 Pro and P50 Pocket introduce a new True-Form Dual-Matrix camera system with a double ring set up appearance that is designed to be visually striking.
Both devices are equipped with advanced imaging processors, Huawei XD Optics and XD Fusion Pro Image Engine for improved image clarity, high dynamic range and intelligent computational photography.
The Huawei P50 Pro and P50 Pocket are powered by EMUI 12 which comes with an improved Control Panel which users can access through a swipe.
The latest flagship smartphones from Huawei: the P50 Pro and the P50 Pocket, together with other products from the company’s ecosystem.
Its distributed security features enable password and facial recognition across multiple devices, ensuring safe and verified access to data.
The HUAWEI P50 Pro and P50 Pocket also come pre-installed with AppGallery, the official app store for Huawei devices.

Following the announcement of The Freestyle at CES 2022 less than a week ago, Samsung Electronics shipped a unit of The Freestyle to Singapore for a sneak preview for Singapore media.
The Freestyle is a 100-inch smart TV in disguise and includes a projector, speaker and ambient light rolled into one.
Samsung describes The Freestyle a portable projector, smart speaker and lighting device all rolled into one.
To me, it’s essentially a 100-inch smart-TV rolled into a lightweight (830g) and portable “canister” that you can carry around to a BBQ or a hotel staycation.
Driven by Samsung’s Tizen OS and controlled by a remote control, it doesn’t have an in-built battery so you’ll either need access to a wall outlet, or a USB-PD battery bank that can put out 20V and 50W.
So without having to lug a 100-inch TV around, you can just fish out The Freestyle, plug it (USB-C port) into a power source – in front of a flat surface (which can be a wall or the ceiling) – and you’re in business … you have effectively a 100-inch smart TV in front of you to stream content from the Web.
There is an in-built 360-degree speaker included.

At its virtual “Gameverse” event during CES 2022, MSI unveiled new laptops powered by 12th Gen Intel Core H series processors and up to GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.
MSI’s new laptops are powered by 12th Gen Intel Core H series processors and up to GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.
MSI’s new laptops sport the Meta-ready logo and are equipped with Intel Core i7 or above processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or above.
MSI boasts that these new laptops are designed “for anyone who’d like to experience Metaverse-compatible performance”.

At a pre-show keynote event at CES 2022, Samsung Electronics unveiled its vision for the future – Together for Tomorrow. The company also showcased its 2022 TV and monitor lineup, and launched The Freestyle – a portable screen and entertainment device.
John-Hee Han, Vice Chairman, CEO and Head of DX (Device eXperience) Division at Samsung, sharing the company’s vision at a pre-show keynote event at CES 2022.
As part of its “Together for Tomorrow” vision, John-Hee Han highlighted its plans to build a more sustainable, customised and connected future with products and initiatives that minimise environmental impact, cater to consumers’ lifestyles, and make smart home experiences truly seamless.
Han is the Vice Chairman, CEO and Head of DX (Device eXperience) Division at Samsung.
For the company’s TV/monitor lineup, the vision is “Screens Everywhere, Screen for All” – focussing on life-like images, immersive sound, and hyper-personalised experiences for working gaming or watching content.
Samsung’s 2022 TV and monitor lineup will be available in Singapore from the second quarter of 2022 onwards.
