TCL sponsors Premiere of “X-Men: Days of Future Past”

TCL is sponsoring the Premiere of latest installment of the X-Men series of movies as the Chinese company makes global entertainment marketing key to its corporate strategy.

    TCL has previously sponsored films such as "Transformers 3", "The Avengers", "The Dark Knight Rises", "Cloud Atlas" and "Iron Man 3" and in 2013 bought the naming rights to the landmark Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Huawei has unveiled a slew of mobile devices, launching premium handset range Honor 3X, world’s slimmest 7-inch tablet MediaPad X1, Mobile WiFi Miao Wang and home entertainment device MediaQ.

StarHub partners Samsung and NAGRA for new set-top boxes

The first of three to be rolled out – the Samsung HD Interactive set-top box will be available to all StarHub TV customers starting 15 April.

The new set-top box, developed by Samsung is sleeker and slimmer than the current design. The middleware that is powered by NAGRA, promises four times faster access to VOD titles, and a seamless channel surfing experience. In addition, a new search function allows users to search for their content effortlessly.

StarHub has announced a strategic partnership with Samsung Electronics and digital media technology company NAGRA for its line-up of next-generation set-top boxes.

“We are thrilled to partner with Samsung and NAGRA, both leaders in their respective fields, for our next-generation set-top boxes. We recognise that today, TV viewing goes beyond just a passive lean-back experience. Users now demand a more responsive and intuitive user experience when they search for content,” said Lin Shu Fen, Head of Entertainment & SmartLife, StarHub.

The two other set-top boxes will include an all-in-one box that enables features like multi-room recording and multi-screen capability, as well as one that is IPTV-enabled.

Sporting a sleeker and slimmer appearance, the Samsung HD Interactive set-top box incorporates NAGRA’s latest middleware technology to create a seamless and compelling user experience.

The enhanced middleware enables users to navigate easier on a revamped user interface which also promises up to four times faster access to Video On Demand titles – compared to the current models.

New arrivals: Updated Loewe Individual TV system in Singapore

The new Loewe Individual TV system is now available for pre-order from S$8,879 (55-inch), S$7,099 (46-inch), and S$5,669 (40-inch). Loewe Active 3D glasses are sold separately at S$149 each.

The Loewe flat-screen TVs are available for delivery in finishes of High Gloss White, Aluminium Black, Aluminium Silver, and now also in Aluminium Titanium.

Samsung launches three UHD TVs for expanded 2013 Smart TV range

The three Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) TVs are: 85-inch S9 UHD TV (S$49,999), as well as the 55-inch (S$7,499) and 65-inch (S$10,499) Series 9 F9000 LED TV. Available now in major electronics retailers.

All three new 4K models are able to up-scale to UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution from lower resolution content.

SingTel mio TV unveils BPL stand-alone subscription @ $59.90

Samsung’s new accessories to enhance Smart TV experience

Samsung Evolution Kit SEK-1000/XS (S$399) and Samsung TV Camera VG-STC3000 (S$129) will be available this month at all major electronic stores in Singapore.

To provide users with a more seamless, integrated and immersive entertainment experience with its Smart TVs, Samsung Singapore has announced its latest offering – the Samsung Evolution Kit and the Samsung TV Camera.

The Evolution Kit offers both software and hardware updates that include access to the 2013 Smart Hub and other Smart features

It also upgrades the TV’s dual-core processor to quad-core, resulting in faster internal processing speeds.

On top of that, Smart Interaction will now include new commands such as two-hands motion and new gesture poses so consumers can swipe, zoom, grab and like what they see on their TV screens.
