Connected through High-Security NFC technology, the RÉMY MARTIN CLUB CONNECTED BOTTLE will be available in China this fall and will provide advanced functionalities such as secure authentication, opening detection and an integrated consumer engagement program.

Authentication and security

Rémy Martin is the first Wines and Spirits brand to bring to market a connected bottle with the most highly secure opening detection technology; integrating a unique, tamper proof NFC tag into the capsule.

“Not only does the RÉMY MARTIN CLUB CONNECTED BOTTLE guarantee the authenticity of the product, but also, and this is the exciting innovation, it allows us to communicate directly with our consumers who like and use our products.  Rewards, events, special offers: our communication can now be completely aligned with our clients’ preferences for an optimal relevancy.” explained Augustin Depardon, Rémy Martin Executive Director.

The core of the solution developed by Selinko, a bank level authentication solution, lies in a 100% secure authentication of the genuine provenance of the bottle, the ability to detect a previously opened one and allow the brand to remain in contact with the consumer after purchase is made.

The experience of the RÉMY MARTIN CLUB CONNECTED BOTTLE is accessible via a dedicated smartphone application, allowing consumers immediate interaction with their purchase.

How it works

While CRM solutions such as QR codes or NFC tags already exist, the RÉMY MARTIN CLUB CONNECTED BOTTLE is a totally innovative technology.

This high-security NFC chip, combined with asymmetric encryption, detects the opening of the bottle and remains active thereafter.

“As the world is becoming connected, our consumers are expecting their favorite brands to do more than deliver the finest spirits: they want to have a direct connection with these brands, and a direct engagement. The RÉMY MARTIN CLUB CONNECTED BOTTLE thus addresses a consumer need, and I must say we are proud to be the first brand to bring it to market in our industry.” underlined Depardon.

By simply tapping the top of the bottle, the previously downloaded Rémy Martin application will instantly show if the bottle is genuine and sealed, or if it has been resealed.

Once the consumer opens his or her bottle, the NFC integrated tag will emit a different signal, indicating the change from “sealed” to “opened”.

The consumer is also eligible to earn points towards the Rémy Martin engagement program when tapping the bottle again.

This avant-garde technology is certified ANSSI – EAL4+ and provides the same level of security found in electronic passports or bankcards.

RÉMY MARTIN CLUB CONNECTED BOTTLE will initially be available at some of China’s nightclubs and then its availability will be scaled up market wide.
