Today is the beginning of the second half of 2020. Here’s the thematic workplan for tech4tea.com for the second half of the year.
Thematic Workplan 2H2020 – centred around the “aftermath” of COVID-19.
The first half of 2020 has been ALL about something that began last year – COVID-19.
Trends for the New Normal
Greater segregation and social distancing as opposed to physical mixing and social interactions.
Greater #WorkingFromHome rather than predominantly working at the office.
More #HomeBasedLearning in addition to school-based teaching.
Greater hygiene and social responsibility in preventive measures versus self-centred individualism in pursuit of personal convenience and comfort.
Movement and entry logging at facilities as well as personal movement tracking for contact tracing.
Quarantine facilities and operational monitoring and control to ensure compliance.
All sorts of measures to reduce physical movement and proximity eg. telemedicine to replace physical visits to clinics etc.
The list goes on and on.
The impact and disruption of COVID-19 on our lives will be all-pervasive.
Unfortunately, the second half of 2020 looks set to be all about the pandemic as well.
The past six months saw countries all over the world reeling from the impact of a new disease – frantically learning about it and desperately trying to stem its spread.
The next six months will see countries continue their fight against the global epidemic- managing second wave outbreaks, racing to develop vaccines and cures, and emerging out of lockdowns to return to some form of normalcy.
Going forward, the “new normal” will be very different from the normal of pre-COVID days.
So the next half year will be all about living WITH COVID-19 – in all aspects of life.

Fujitsu Client Computing Limited (FCCL) brings new UH-X laptop model from its ultralight series to Singapore, exclusively available at Courts – from S$1,999.

To tackle the shortage of potential leaders joining the digital sector, the Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (SIT) has crafted a new course: Masters of Science (MSc) in Computer Science and Software Engineering – to better prepare graduates for leadership roles, specifically within the IT and science disciplines.
Launching in September 2020, the newly developed program is available for students with bachelor’s in computer science or software engineering who have ambitions to be a part of the next generation of technical leaders.
