Tech-U-Can-Use (TUCU): Need rugged and durable USB-C cables with USB-A or USB-C connectors for your Android devices or PCs? Check out these two cables from Belkin.
When I got the BoostCharge Pro 4-Port 108W GaN Charger from Belkin, I also got two USB-C cables along with it, for charging my Android smartphones, tablets, PCs and other gadgets like smartwatches and earbuds.
- Belkin BoostCharge Pro Flex USB-C to USB-C Cable (S$39.90)
- Belkin BoostCharge Pro Flex USB-A to USB-C Cable (S$34.90)
These cables are more durable and flexible compared to generic cables – they are supposedly up to 30x more durable and are more resistant to tangling, fraying and kinks.
They have been tested to survive more than 30 thousand bends.
The greater durability is due to the double braided nylon exterior of the cables with silicone technology on the inside, and the satin aluminum cable head which adds strength and style.
I need cables that are durable and rugged when I pack them into the luggage when I travel.
At home or in the office, you can stick a small metal plate (plate and sticking tape included with the cable) on the side of the table so that the cable can be neatly attached to the plate through a magnetic button in the cable strap.
The cables come in three lengths (1m, 2m, 3m) and four colours (black, blue, pink white).
The cables come with a 5-year extended warranty.
The USB-C to USB-C cable supports USB-C PD fast charging, powering a Samsung S21 Ultra from 0-50% in 26 mins.
The USB-A to USB-C Cable is USB-IF certified, assuring a safe, compatible, and long-lasting connection to devices.
I just leave these cables plugged into the GaN charger and connect the devices I want to charge to the other ends of the cables.
These cables are rated for 60W for charging so it’s good enough for charging most devices and many (but not all) laptops.

What if my PC has a powerbrick larger than the 60W rating?
In that case, get a cable with a higher power rating. Eg. the BoostCharge USB-C to USB-C Cable 100W, that can charge the 16-inch MacBook Pro which comes with a 96W charger.
