Tech-U-Can-Use (TUCU): Need charging USB cables with Lightning connectors for your Apple devices? Check out these two cables from Belkin.
Over the weekend, I got these two cables for my nephew who is an Apple fan.
- Belkin BoostCharge Pro Flex USB-A Cable with Lightning Connector
- Belkin BoostCharge Pro Flex USB-C Cable with Lightning Connector
Why use these cables instead of those generic cables that came with the devices?
Because of greater durability and flexibility.
Belkin boasts that the BoostCharge Pro Flex USB cables are up to 30x more durable than ordinary cables, so that they are more resistant to tangling, fraying and kinks.
Durability and ruggedness are important so that they can survive being packed into luggages during travels.
What I like about the cables is the specially designed cable strap with a magnetic button to help keep the cable tidy and organised.
An adhesive metal plate is included in the box so you can stick the metal plate to the side of the table and attach the cable magnetically to the metal plate.
They have been tested to survive more than 30 thousand bends.
The greater durability is due to the double braided nylon exterior of the cables with silicone technology on the inside, and the satin aluminum cable head which adds strength and style.
The cables come in three lengths (1m, 2m, 3m) and four colours (black, blue, pink white).
I got the pink and white 1m versions which are priced at S$39.90 each.
The cables come with a 5-year extended warranty.
The cables are MFi-certified and supports USB-C PD fast charging, taking an iPhone 12 from zero to 50% in 25min.

My cables always get frayed after returning from trips because they’d been squeezed in the luggage too tightly packed. I’ll give these a try.
I’ve had the same experience, so I have a set of better quality cables that are more ruggedised that I bring on the road.
