The iconic Master of G Series has been transformed into an indestructible army of robots to protect the sky, land and sea.
Casio Singapore has released the ‘Master of G’ Collection of designer robot figurines in collaboration with toymaker adFunture Workshop and street wear label VEIL.
“G-SHOCK is not just part of a culture, it has an entire sub-culture on its own. As a long-time fan and collector, I feel honoured to be able to creatively contribute to the G-SHOCK universe with my designs and to introduce the ‘Master of G’ designer figurines and watches specifically for collectors and G-SHOCK fans here in Singapore,” commented Eddi Yip, Founder of adFunture Workshop and Designer of VEIL.
Produced exclusively for Singapore, each collectible ‘Master of G’ unit comes with a VEIL-inspired G-SHOCK Gravity Master GPW-1000, Gulf Master GWN-1000 or Mud Master GWG-1000 timepiece mounted on the figurines’ respective chassis.
Each robot and its matching timepiece are sold as a set (robots are not sold separately) with only a $100 top-up from the original suggested retail price of the timepiece.

The ZenWatch 2 works with both Android and iOS devices and its battery life is rated at more than 2 days for each charge.
The ZenWatch 2 is ASUS’ first smartwatch to be introduced in Singapore.
ZenWatch 2 is available in two sizes:
- Sparrow, the larger 1.63-inch gunmetal housing and navy blue leather strap.
- Wren, the 1.43-inch silver housing and khaki leather strap.
A variety of interchangeable straps (S$39) for the smartwatch will be available by end November.

With every shirtless runner, X-Change Republic Pte Ltd will donate a T-shirt to the underprivileged children in developing countries in partnership with the T Foundation, a non-profit organisation committed to the development and spread of entrepreneurship around the globe.
“The inaugural YOLO Run aims to push the boat out with the bravery of individuals to live freely and purposefully. To go beyond more than just sweating it out for a five-kilometre, we want to challenge participants to race shirtless and liberate themselves from their inner insecurities,” said YOLO Run 2015 race director, Brandon Lee.
Ladies are encouraged to race in their exclusive YOLO Run sports bra which comes with the race pack.
As for the gentlemen, you can wear the YOLO Run singlet.
A finisher T-shirt along with a yoga mat will be part of the race entitlements to accompany the participants in the mass yoga session at the end of the run.
The organisers aim to break into the Singapore Book of Records for the most number of shirtless runners at an event.
YOLO Runners can also participate in exciting fringe activities in surprise YOLO Zones.

The Top 40 teams that made it from the Top 100 team pitching session on 7 September refined their presentations and came back to battle for the Top 20 places. Erin Tan reports.

The judging sessions yesterday ran concurrently in three separate rooms in Nanyang Polytechnic.
Guangyang Secondary’s “Muscular Musclecles” with their catchy slogan: ‘Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is a progress, working together is a success. Teamwork makes a Dream-work!’
Each team had ten minutes to present their ideas and answer questions from the judges, with the help of visual aids.
Cedar Girls Secondary’s “Duck Duck Glucose” facing the ominously-placed timer, awaiting judgement.
It was an intimidating experience for some given that the timer was placed practically right in front of their noses!
Why do boys do that? These boys are practising their pitch facing a wall.
Most of the teams, however, managed to keep to the time limit.
The other teams waiting for their turns were frantically rehearsing and refining their pitches in two computer labs behind the judging rooms.
N.E.mation! 10 one-week selection
The annual NEmation! competition, organised by Nexus, marks its tenth anniversary this year, and the competition is already well underway.
Out of 475 teams that registered for the contest this year, 100 were shortlisted to pitch their ideas to judges on Monday to see which team would make the Top 40.
Yesterday, the third stage of selection was conducted – whittling down the 40 teams who made it through the first two rounds to just 20 teams.
I witnessed many different and dynamic ideas were produced, ranging from a tower of bricks made in the shape of the Total Defence logo shaped like a hand; to a dish with many ingredients representing the different elements that make Singapore unique.
There was even an extremely comical pun on the words “eyelid” and “I Lead” representing Singapore’s ‘vision’. Very punny!
All in all, the students had great fun.
Many of them I chatted with shared that they had had great fun and had learned many new things like teamwork, time management and spontaneity.
All the ideas seemed promising, with great potential, but in the end, only 20 could be selected.
