To enhance user productivity and performance, Jabra Motion uses motion sensor technology to intuitively follow the user’s every move – to provide premium call control and superior audio quality.
Available 13 July at S$198. Read on for launch promo.

Jabra Motion will be available in Singapore from 13 July for S$198.
Featuring latest intuitive technologies and ergonomic design – including motion sensor technology and a flip-boom arm – the headset caters to the needs of performance-centric users for optimal team communications and project management tasks.

Jabra Motion clips behind the ear.
Paired with smartphones, tablets or laptops, whether at the workplace, on the road or at home – the intelligent and ‘pocketable’ Jabra Motion keeps users up to speed and in touch as they stay focused on their projects and business tasks.
It offers a wireless freedom range of 10m.
Extremely light at 17.5g, the flexible, curve-shaped Jabra Motion provides a customized ear fit with a rotating, height-adjustable speaker tower and different-sized ear-gels.
When a call comes in and the user picks up the Jabra Motion, its intelligent built-in motion sensor automatically triggers the ‘answer call’ function.

The Jabra Motion can be easily folded to be “pocketed”.
And when it is laid down on a surface, the headset takes a power nap.
Sensing changing sound environments or change in motion, such as when the user starts walking, Jabra Motion makes automatic audio adjustment according to ambient noise levels.
The Jabra Motion is built on the Jabra signature ‘behind-the-ear’ circular design based on contour of the ear.
Its folding boom adds ‘pocketability’ – flip it close to a smaller, palm-sized fit to keep in pocket or handbag; flip it open again to instantly connect to an incoming call.

The VPL-FHZ55 is the world’s first 3LCD Laser Light Source Projector. Sony launched the new projector for Asia in Singapore today. Priced at S$7,999 and available in black or white chasis in Asia Pacific by August 2013.

The Sony VPL-FHZ55 is the world’s first 3LCD Laser Light Source Projector. Price: S$7,999.
The VPL-FHZ55 is a WUXGA-class (1920 x 1200) installation projector based on a blue laser light source, and is the world’s first 3LCD laser projector.
I was impressed by a demo of the projector in action in a fully lighted room. The resolution was detailed while the colours were extremely vivid and accurate.
The picture quality was good enough for home entertainment use although the projector is targeted mainly at business and corporate use.
Capable of achieving 4,000 lumens, it is one of the brightest projectors of its kind, and delivers a range of performance capabilities that eliminate many issues associated with conventional lamp-based projection.

White nights, midnight sun and paying a social visit to Santa Claus at his hometown at the Arctic Circle.

Uspenski Cathedral in Helsinki. The clear blue skies was a relief from the haze back in South East Asia. Taken with Nikon D600 with 24-120mm lens.
It all started back in 1991 with the liberation of the Baltic States from the Soviet Union which was subsequently followed by the collapse and breakup of the Soviet bloc.

The old town square in Tallinn teems with tourists and artisans celebrating the city’s history and traditional crafts. Photo taken with Nikon D600 with 24-120mm lens.
Since then, my wife and I have always wondered about what these three brave Baltic States were like – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
As students then, we’d heard so little about these three newly-minted (then) countries.
So it was that – two decades after those tumultuous times – we decided to visit Estonia’s capital Tallinn during the children’s school holidays this year.
The easiest approach was via Helsinki.
We flew direct to the capital of Finland via Finnair and then made a day trip via a 2-hour ferry across the Gulf of Finland.
