This photo also won top place in Theme 1: Vision, the first of three themes in this year’s Canon PhotoMarathon. Photo credit: Lim Mark Anthony Pamintuan.

When I chatted with Mark about the photo, he shared that he decided to go to the Singapore Flyer because it was one of the famous icons here.

“To be able to see the real beauty, patience, effort and hard work – these are the keys to success,” Lim Mark Anthony Pamintuan, winner of Theme 1: Vision and Best of Show (Open Category).

The Singapore Flyer can be seen as a reflection on the surface of an eyeball in this photo.

In case you’re wondering, the eye in the photo belongs to a lady jogger Mark approached at the Flyer.

The photo is also the top photo for Theme 1: Vision in Canon PhotoMarathon 2016 in the Open Category.

Mark is a nurse and travel photographer working in Singapore.
