The event saw the powerful NEC Laser Hybrid projector using solid state technology showcased for the first time within Asia Pacific, as well as the NEC 4K Ultra High Definition Videowall solution with patent-pending frame compensation technology.
The showcase provided an interactive experience for attendees with set-up scenarios for various sectors.
It included digital signage solutions enabling content creation on the cloud, as well as solutions with innovative energy saving features utilising human sensors.
Highlights also included interactive and collaborative solutions such as wireless presentation software, advanced interactive whiteboard applications with finger touch functionality, and interactive table displays for education, retail and hospitality sectors as well as for enterprise use.
Below are more details about the two highlights.
4K Ultra High Definition Videowall solution
The new X554UN Videowall solution is the latest addition to its professional grade LCD display video wall line up.

The eco-friendly UN series enables the user to create 4K UHD video walls using 4 different displays with a single projector head, low cost graphics card and with one PC source.
The X554UN Videowall panels come with an ultra-narrow bezel, at only 5.7mm.
The barely discernible transition gap between displays ensures a homogenous picture across the matrix, and helps avoid interruptions of the displays.
Innovative patent-pending frame compensation technology ensures a seamless wall display by enabling high speed videos to be played without the usual loss of frames between bezels to create a smooth synchronised display of content across the full video wall.
“Our expanded portfolios with the latest eco-friendly UN Series Videowall display and top-of-the-line SSL projector are the forefront of display and projector technologies that can help businesses enhance their productivity and lower overall total cost of ownership,” said Vincent Koh, Vice President, Multimedia Platforms, NEC Asia Pacific.
The UN series Videowall panels also come with the innovative unique human sensor accessory that can automatically adjust brightness, audio and source inputs upon detection of human presence, and can be creatively configured for digital signage and energy saving purposes.
Notably, users can easily configure the display using mobile devices through the NEC NFC Android app, which can reduce installation costs significantly.
Additionally, NEC’s Auto TileMatrixM technology allows for easy manipulation of a single picture to 2×2 or 3×3 formats, providing convenience and enhanced flexibility for users.
NEC Laser Hybrid projector
The new NEC Laser Hybrid PX602UL Solid State Light Source (SSL) projector is a powerful 6000-lumen, WUXGA projector.
“I would like to highlight that video walls can play a key role to a company’s overall branding strategy, and our new UN series provide a cost-effective and impressive solution,” added Koh.
It has a mercury-free design with environmentally friendly features and multimedia functionality for large auditoriums, meeting rooms, as well as digital signage applications.
The PX602UL projector is designed to operate continuously, 24/7 if desired, and is great for projection of live video.
In place of a lamp, the eco-friendly projector utilises cutting-edge solid state technology consisting of a laser diode and a phosphor wheel with a lifespan of 20,000 hours.

Without a lamp or filter, it is maintenance free, improving overall cost of ownership.
An innovative feature of the PX602UL projector is the adjustable laser diode output power and the brightness levels of the projector, a first for projectors.
The projector comes with a 360 degree free tilt and portrait mode.
Other notable features include presence of OPS slot, edge blending, geometric correction and the stacking correction tool.
Another innovative technology, the NEC Asset Management Monitoring software that comes along with the devices, provides an all-in-one support system that can help users in preventive maintenance, monitoring performance and enable energy savings across display solutions within an enterprise.
