Canon has launched the imageCLASS LBP6680x, a compact monochrome laser printer for Small Office/Home Offices (SOHOs) and Small and Medium-Sized businesses (SMBs).

Canon’s Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP) in the LBP6680x enables growing businesses to simplify office workflow and improve their efficiency.

The device integrates seamlessly with Canon’s uniFLOW print management system, enabling SOHOs and SMBs with a high level of flexibility, cost control and accountability.
Server-less Solutions for Home Offices and SMBs
With the addition of an SD Card Secure Print module, the LBP6680x offers a safer printing solution for businesses at a low cost, without having to invest in additional servers or security software.
Print jobs can be encoded with a password just before it is sent to the printer, and released only when the user re-enters the password at the device.
In addition, the LBP6680x supports direct printing from USB flash memory, giving small businesses added convenience and flexibility to print PDF, JPEG, TIFF, and XPS files without the need to send the print jobs through the print driver.
Reliable, Productive and High-Quality Printing
The feature-packed LBP6680x boasts Canon’s proprietary On-Demand Fixing, which minimises long waiting times during device warm-up and recovery from sleep, while reducing overall power consumption and operational costs.
“Canon has designed the new imageCLASS LBP6680x to provide server-less print and scan solutions for small-to-medium business needs, which together with Canon’s uniFLOW system improve flexibility, security and cost accounting,” Koh added.Canon’s UFR II print language enables faster printing by allowing the device and PC host to share memory and processing resources.
the LBP6680x has a First Printout Time of 7 seconds, and Recovery Time of 10 seconds.
It prints in A4 simplex mode at 33 pages-per-minute (ppm), with an impressive print resolution of up-to 1200dpi x 1200dpi equivalent.
The device also comes with support for the PCL and PostScript print languages, enabling the high-quality printing of text and vector graphics for creative industries.
Together with 768MB of device memory and true Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, the LBP6680x is designed to handle different print demands and operating environments right out of the box.
Cost- and Energy-Efficiency
For cost-conscious businesses, the LBP6680x carries an Energy Star Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) power consumption rating of just 1.3kWh/W, helping them to stretch their dollar in day-to-day operations.
Power consumption falls to 1W in Deep Sleep mode to further conserve power.

With a standard 250-sheet input cassette and the option to add a 500-sheet cassette feeder, the LBP6680x will satisfy businesses with heavy printing demands.
A 50-sheet multi-purpose tray increases the versatility of the LBP6680x when it comes to printing of thicker papers, custom paper sizes, or envelopes.

The LBP6680x device’s 5-line LCD display provides great ease of use with animated graphics and automatic character scroll.
Toner replacement on the device is easy to manage with the Canon all-in-one toner cartridge design.
