The mosque – first built in 1826 – is one of Singapore’s most important mosques.

The current building dates from 1928, when the original mosque was rebuilt.

Masjid Sultan was built by Sultan Hussain Shah of Johore – beside his palace – to serve the Malays and Muslims living in the Kampong Glam area.

I had a quick walk-around with the newly launched Sony Cyber-shot RX100 II compact camera and snapped some shots of the mosque while familiarising myself with the camera.
