New MIL camera: Samsung NX2000 offers enhanced connectivity

The new mirrorless interchangeable lens camera offers both image quality and ease of sharing snapshots with the newest addition to its NX family of compact system cameras.

The large 20.3MP ASP-C CMOS Sensor in the NX2000 is produced entirely by Samsung in-house and promises vivid colours even in low light conditions.

“Consumer demand for quality photography and the increasing desire for instantaneous sharing has become a focus for our NX range,” said Irene Ng, Vice President, Marketing, Samsung Asia.

The NX2000’s has a DRIMe IV engine which works to reduce noise, improve speed and enable superior color reproduction.

With 8fps fast continuous shooting, the NX2000 can freeze moving subject or enable a photographer to snap photos while on the run.

Its 1/4000th second top shutter speed makes capturing clear, blur free images possible, while the wide ISO range (100 to 25600) helps to deliver images promises beautifully balanced photos regardless of the light conditions.

The NX2000 has a large 3.7-inch WVGA TFT-LCD Full Touch Screen with 1,152k dots.

Users can take photos of fast-moving subjects, such as a child running, with Action Freeze or capture pretty portraits with Best Face which takes five consecutive photos and lets the user select the best facial expression of each person in the picture.

NX2000 users will have a choice of 12 interchangeable lenses – from ultra-compact pancake lenses and versatile zooms, to a premium portrait lens and a macro lens, as well as a selection of wide lenses.

i-Function system allows users to control various settings with the lens, such as the aperture or shutter speed.

The NX2000 has a 3D Still and Movie Recording mode which works with Samsung’s 45mm 2D/3D lens (sold separately at S$649) to take photos and videos that can be replayed and enjoyed on compatible 3D TVs.

Enhanced Wi-Fi connectivity

Enabled by Samsung’s SMART CAMERA 2.0 technology, it is easy for users to share and store images directly from the NX2000.

The Samsung SMART CAMERA App is available on both Android and iOS platforms.

AutoShare sends photos, as they are taken, directly from the NX2000 to a smartphone or tablet, via a direct Wi-Fi connection.

Special memories can be shared instantaneously through a smartphone when users aren’t connected to a Wi-Fi access point.

Images are also instantly backed up for those who are constantly on the go and don’t have time to worry about storage.

The integrated Near Field Communication (NFC) technology seamlessly links the NX2000 to many NFC-enabled Android smartphones and tablets.

Simply tap the camera with the smart device and NFC immediately launches the Samsung SMART CAMERA App and automatically pairs the device via a direct Wi-Fi connection.

Additionally, users can sync their favorite social website, such as Facebook, to the dedicated Direct Link hot key, for menu-free simplified sharing with the touch of one button.
