With the photos that this phone is putting out, I’m probably going to recommend it as the best camera phone in the #tech4xmas Gift Guide for 2020.

Powered by the Kirin 9000 flagship SoC, which incorporates the world’s first and most sophisticated 5nm 5G SoC to date, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is 5G-ready and capable of multi-tasking.

The phone also features the Ultra Vision Cine Camera system co-engineered with Leica that is designed to take high quality photos and videos easily.

The Huawei Mate 40 Pro runs on the latest Android 10 and EMUI 11.0 operating system which enables multi-tasking, multi-screen collaboration and intelligent interactions.

In the absence of Google Mobile Services (GMS), the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is pre-installed with Huawei’s official app distribution platform, AppGallery, that offers a growing selection of mobile apps.

TraceTogether App Now Available in Huawei AppGallery

TraceTogether is the latest addition to Huawei AppGallery, following other top Singapore apps such as UOB, DBS, POSB, ComfortDelGro, TADA and RYDE.

The camera module is housed in an all-new Space Ring Design on the Huawei Mate 40 Pro which takes inspiration from the Event Horizon phenomena, making it recognizable from afar. I have been using the Mystic Silver version. In the box is the 66W fast charger.

Users can also download TraceTogether using Petal Search, Huawei’s search tool designed to connect users to more apps from and outside of AppGallery.

Huawei smartphone users are encouraged to download, set up their profile and use the app to be part of a larger community committed to stopping the spread of COVID-19.

In addition to contact tracing, the app saves users’ personal details, eliminating repetitive input of information for SafeEntry check in.

This allows for a faster and more seamless experience when checking in and out of SafeEntry locations.

The app also provides a digital barcode for NRIC/FIN, providing for more convenient NRIC scanning from Huawei smartphone devices.

Will the Mate 40 Pro+ be available in Singapore?

At the moment, only the Mate 40 Pro is being made available in Singapore (and only in limited quantities). There’s no word on the Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro+ … Huawei may decide later to bring these versions to Singapore as well.
