From today, the newest version of Google Chromecast will be available in Singapore from M1 and Lazada retailers at S$65.

Chromecast turns any TV into a smart TV by streaming the display of a Chromebook or an Android, iOS, Windows device onto a any television with an HDMI port.

With fresh content and an updated app to find entertainment, the new Chromecast promises to make streaming easier and up to 6.5x faster than its predecessor.

The new Chromecast has an updated design, making it easier to fit into TVs with crowded ports.

With improved connectivity, a new design and an updated app, friends and family can share the fun of streaming movies, music, games and shows. The future of entertainment is streaming and Chromecast brings it all to you in a simple, affordable device.” said Mickey Kim, Head of Asia Pacific Chromecast Partnerships, Google.

It supports the latest WiFi standards and adapts to changing Wi-Fi conditions in most homes, ensuring higher quality video with less buffering.

In addition to movies, TV shows and music are available through apps including Netflix, iFlix, Plex, Viki, Google Play and YouTube.

Chromecast also offers a range of popular single and multi-player games including Angry Birds.

The new Chromecast will be available exclusively from Lazada online retailers and M1 Shop outlets for S$65.

Chromecast will also be available to M1 customers who sign up or recontract on any 24-month Fibre Broadband plan for S$2 a month.

The Chromecast app has been updated to make it easier to search for content across the thousands of apps that work with Chromecast—the app provides personalized suggestions as well as functionality for specific searches.

The new Chromecast was first launched in the US in September 2015 and 25 million devices have been sold worldwide.
