Hands-on

A few of us were invited to try out the HTC One max in Singapore.

The large smartphone was a pleasure to use, especially for surfing the Web and watching videos, where the big screen makes it really easy for the eyes and flattering to the content.

You’d need deep pockets – physically – though, if you want to keep it in the trousers pocket. And you’ll probably fish it out of the pocket the moment you sit down. That’s how it is with all these huge smartphones these days.

Actually, even with small smartphones like the HTC mini, I tend to take out the phone anyway when I sit down for more comfort.

For ladies with a handbag, that’s not an issue of course.

The on-screen keyboard was also too big to type with one hand.

The fingerprint scan is easy to get a hang to and can be done while holding the HTC One max with one hand.

Overall a very positive first hands-on.

Through HTC’s UltraPixel camera technology, HTC Zoe mode, photos are brought to life with a 2.1MP front-facing camera.

Similar to the HTC One and HTC One mini, the HTC One max comes built with the same premium quality and game-changing innovations present in the other two models,” added Yang.

The HTC One max captures full HD 1080p videos and through Dual Capture, you can now snap memorable moments and your reaction to them in one single photo or video by simultaneously shooting with the front and rear cameras.

Improved imaging is also introduced through Video Highlights, which combines multiple photos (including HTC Zoes) and videos to create a mini movie complete with the soundtrack and visual theme of your choice.

And with the HTC One max, your Video Highlights can now be at any length you want.
