The Misfit Shine can be placed on the sport band and worn like a watch on the wrist.

It can be used to tell time as well via two pin lights that show the current time in hours and minutes.

Alternatively, it can be attached via the clasp to almost anywhere on the body – depending on the physical activity involved – where there is most movement occurring.

The data is displayed via its free companion iOS app available on the App Store.

The data is uploaded via Bluetooth to the iPhone and iPad. Up to three Misfit Shine monitors can be registered on each device, as three separate accounts. The device holds up to a months worth of data.

At the moment, the Misfit Shine is only compatible with iOS devices. The company aims to roll out the Android app in January 2014.

The Misfit Shine uses a standard disposable CR2032 coin cell battery so no battery charger and cable is required. Misfit Wearables claims the Shine can last for months on each battery.
