Roborock combines cutting-edge technologies with a keen awareness of what home-owners want to produce robot vacuums with floor-cleaning features that get the job done with minimum human intervention.
Having used multiple robot vacuum floor-cleaners since their debut more than a decade ago, tech4tea.com has witnessed the evolution in their design and performance over time.
In the early days, a simple robot vacuum could only vacuum the floor with limited effectiveness, and required the user to manually empty the dust compartment and clean the vacuum robot frequently.
Nowadays, with robot vacuums like the S7 MaxV Ultra from Roborock, home-owners can delegate the floor cleaning of their homes completely to their robot vacuums, with minimum fuss and human intervention.
The S7 MaxV Ultra, for example, not only vacuums but also mops the floor.
In fact, its 5100 Pa suction power is twice the 2500 Pa of normal vacuums in the market and enables it to do a more effective job of clearing the dust and dirt on the floors.
For mopping, the S7 MaxV Ultra features Roborock’s innovative Vibrarise Sonic Vibration mopping.
Instead of the cursory wetting of the floor surface in most mopping robots, the S7 MaxV Ultra vibrates the mop-head up to 300 times per minute, mimicking the action of scrubbing the floor to clean more deeply and effectively.
Real-Time Video Call
A nifty feature in the S7 MaxV Ultra is the ability to make real-time video calls.
The S7 MaxV Ultra upgraded the remote viewing in its predecessors, so you can do more than just talk at the people at home (from outside the home) in a one way communication.
Now with an onboard mic, you can now have a conversation with people no matter where you are through the Roborock app.
You can even stalk and talk to your pets while you’re away from home!
The S7 MaxV Ultra is also intelligent enough to only vacuum carpets without “mopping” them by lifting the mop head when it senses carpets, avoiding the wetting of the carpets.
This auto mop lifting technology enables the S7 MaxV Ultra to complete vacuuming and mopping the entire apartment in one pass without having to clean the carpeted and uncarpeted areas in separate attempts.
Even though robot vacuums are meant to relieve home-owners from the chores of floor cleaning, most robot vacuums still require users to manually empty the dust compartment after vacuuming, rinse the mopping cloth frequently, and to frequently refill the water compartment of the vacuum mop.
The S7 MaxV Ultra automates ALL of these chores.
Auto Emptying. Its dock is able to automatically empty the dust compartment of the vacuum robot into a large dust bag within the dock so that the home-owner only needs to replace the dust bag once every seven weeks, depending on the frequency of cleaning and the dustiness of the apartment.
Auto Refilling. The dock of the S7 MaxV Ultra has a water reservoir and is able to automatically refill the water tank on board the robot so that the mopping range is extended to 300sqm, before the user needs to top up the reservoir.
Auto Cleaning. The dock is able to automatically clean the mopping cloth in the robot with an active brush that rotates and removes debris off it, so that the robot always mops the floor with a clean mopping cloth. The dirty water from washing the mopping cloth is siphoned into a dirty water tank within the dock.
We also like the ReactiveAI 2.0 intelligence which uses Roborock’s Preci-Sense Navigation for obstacle avoidance.
The S7 MaxV Ultra uses a 3D structured light obstacle avoidance system and a Neural Processing Unit for more accurate detection of obstacles, and is able to automatically turn on its LED fill light in low light areas.
The S7 MaxV Ultra exemplifies Roborock’s ability to make robot vacuums that relieve homeowners’ desire to keep the floors of their homes clean, with minimal fuss and human intervention.
I had a roomba too. Broke down so quickly. It’s amazing how much they’ve improved! Maybe it’s time I get another one. Do they still break down so quickly?
I’ve used a Roborock for a few years now and it hasn’t given me any problems so far. Yes, they’ve improved so much in terms of capabilities and performance! Give it a go, Lindsay!
Hmm… maybe I’ll give the Roborock a try.
