Livinguard’s face masks passed tests by the Indian National Institute (NII) of Immunology, showing an average of more than 99% effectiveness against viruses and bacteria. The test report can be found here.

The positive results are timely as the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant drives new mask wearing requirements worldwide
The tests reinforces the efficacy of Livinguard’s patented technology in protecting wearers of its masks at a time when face masks are again at the frontline of the fight against COVID-19.
How it Works
The principle underlying the Livinguard technology is the deactivation of microbes including bacteria and viruses.
The technology applies a positive charge at the molecular level to textile surfaces, making them more powerful than the negative charge of microbes.
Therefore, microbes are deactivated when they encounter textiles treated with Livinguard Technology.
In Singapore, Livinguard recently partnered with Grab Singapore to provide 22,000 masks for the company’s private car hire and delivery drivers to protect them from COVID-19 virus microbes.
This will provide them with the comfort that they are protected in the course of their work, where they encounter a variety of commuters, F&B staff and home diners, even as Singapore sees an ongoing tally of infections as it moves into managing COVID-19 as endemic.
In addition to being available for purchase online, Livinguard’s selection of antiviral masks is also now available at selected Guardian outlets island-wide, making it easier for those who prefer to shop in person.

Mask wearing mandates have grown as the Delta variant continues to wreak havoc on countries’ re-opening plans.
“We are doing everything possible to address the demand from the increasing number of countries that are making it mandatory to wear a mask, both outside and inside, again. Over the past 24 months, Livinguard has been tirelessly updating its self-disinfecting technology and this is yet another example of the company rising to the challenge in a race against the clock,” said Sanjeev Swamy, Livinguard CEO.
In fact, the World Health Organisation recently urged even fully vaccinated people to continue wearing masks, while many countries – including Singapore – continue to mandate the wearing of masks in all public spaces, indoors and out.
Livinguard, the company that developed protective face masks with antiviral and antibacterial properties, has put its masks to the test again, this time by the renowned Indian National Institute (NII) of Immunology.
Once again results have shown that each layer of the Livinguard mask had an average of more than 99% effectiveness against viruses and bacteria.
This reinforces the efficacy of its patented technology, and proves that Livinguard’s revolutionary technology protects its wearers at a time when face masks are again at the frontline of the fight against COVID-19.
“As frontliners are constantly interacting with either their passengers, the F&B staff where they pick up meal orders or home dining customers, and given the number of interactions they might have on a daily basis, it is imperative that they are well-protected. Livinguard’s technology has been tested widely, and is proven to offer protection primarily by inactivating viruses and not by filtration. The comfort of the mask also scores highly, meaning that users are less inclined to remove them, ensuring they stay protected while they work. Even better, the masks only need to be washed once a week, and are efficacious for up to six months, minimising the need to constantly plan mask purchases,” added Swamy.
Livinguard Asia’s Director and Senior Vice President of APAC, Ankit Mital noted that with the pandemic continuing unabated, and new variants seemingly more contagious than ever before, it was even more important now to wear masks that were effective at protecting people, particularly frontline workers.
Textiles treated with Livinguard Technology have also been proven to deactivate viruses, including SARS-CoV-2* (the virus that causes COVID-19) by researchers at the Free University Berlin and the University of Arizona.
The technology has been proven to be efficient for up to 210 days (30 weekly washes) with the mask deactivating microbes, viruses, bacteria and some fungi for the time.
Over 90% biodegradable, a single Livinguard mask removes hundreds of single-use masks from landfills or entering the environment.
In 2020 alone, Livinguard replaced 4.5 billion single-use, disposable masks globally.
Livinguard is now focusing on pivoting its production facility to scale the delivery of its sustainable hygiene technology worldwide.
