The 2016 installments of the Cloud Expo Asia and Data Centre World returned to Singapore (12-13 October) for the fourth year running, with new co-located event Cloud Security Expo this year.
Also new is Smart IoT Singapore, focused on showing how the Internet of Things is transforming the business world, with presentations from the region’s leading partners, including AWS, Digital Reality and SP Telecom.
“Gartner predicts that by 2018, the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region will account for US$11.5billion in total cloud services spending – and the Asia Pacific region will account for 25% of global data centre infrastructure spending by 2016,” according to Andy Kiwanuka, Group Event Director, APAC, of the Cloud Expo Asia Team.
One highlight was a keynote session from INTERPOL’s Senior Digital Forensics Specialist, Christopher Church.
He demonstrated to audiences that cloud based services and law enforcement can work together to safeguard its users and explained the challenges faced by law enforcement in gaining access to cloud based data services.
For Data Centre World visitors witnessed a real life, fully functioning ‘live’ Data Centre – DCW Green Data Centre.
The live interactive feature showcased to IT and data centre professionals the practical implementation of products from cooling units and fans, to cables and raised flooring.
