Panasonic has launched the Toughpad FZ-M1 tablet (together with the Toughbook CF-LX3) in Singapore. It will be available in March 2014 at S$2,600.

Panasonic introduced during 2014 International CES the latest member of its Toughpad family of rugged, enterprise-grade tablets.

The tablet runs Windows 8.1 Pro, on an Intel Core i5 processor, making it easy to integrate into enterprise and government environments.

The Toughpad FZ-M1 has multiple configuration options enabling it to be customised to meet the unique needs of mobile users in various markets such as field services and sales, retail, supply chain and logistics and government.

The 7-inch tablet is built for easy integration into existing IT infrastructure, and designed for smooth deployments and on-going support.

Unlike consumer tablets and other competitive products, the device also offers organisations better and longer life cycle management which translates to a lower total cost of ownership and increased return on investments through time and resource savings.

The Toughpad FZ-M1 is powered by the new fourth generation Intel Core i5 vPro processor, instead of the Atom processor used in consumer Windows tablets.

This provides enterprise-class performance on the go with hardware enhanced security features, remote manageability and capabilities designed to increase end user productivity and data protection.

An Intel Celeron processor model is also available for those with a lower budget.

Its user-replaceable battery delivers eight hours of uninterrupted work, with quick-charging technology that reaches 100% capacity in just two hours.

An optional high capacity battery delivers 16 hours of power, and an optional hot swap bridge battery enables users to change batteries without powering down the device. The bridge battery last for about 3 minutes.

The Toughpad FZ-M1’s 7-inch, 500nit, sunlight readable WXGA display features anti-reflective and anti-glare screen treatments, making it ideal for outdoor use.

Its high-sensitivity capacitive, 10-points multi-touch screen can be used with thick industrial-type gloves.

Like the rest of the Panasonic Toughpad line, the Toughpad FZ-M1 offers numerous configuration options for customisation.
