Bose QuietComfort 20 headphones offers noise reduction, audio performance and comfort, and enables two ways to listen – one to shut out the world, and one to keep the listener connected by letting in selected sounds such as sirens and announcements.

The StayHear+ ear tips are really comfortable and sits snugly in the ear.

They fit in the pocket, weigh just 43 grams, and rival the performance of much larger headphones.

Bose TriPort technology uses ports to increase the effective acoustic space of the earbud to reproduce deep lows, lifelike vocals and instruments.

Bose active equalization tunes the frequency response for improved, natural sound.

A rechargeable battery provides about 16 hours of power for the active noise cancelling.

When the battery is depleted or the power is turned off, the music plays on in the QC20 as per a normal set of non-noise-cancelling earphones.

“The Bose QC20 and SoundLink Mini are truly revolutionary devices … the best things in life can come in small packages,” said Dr. Michael Tien, CEO of Atlas Sound & Vision.

The new QuietComfort 20 headphones include an integrated inline microphone and controls that enable the user to take calls.

You can pre-order the Bose QC20 now on the Atlas e-store online at S$499 for delivery by end-September.

Tryout and hands-on

Within the quiet environment created by Bose noise reduction, musical detail previously “lost” through conventional in-ear headphone listening can be heard with clarity.

We tried the QC20 with a wide range of music genres, all of which sounded superb – full, rich, and deep, without artificial boosts or distortion.

The QuietComfort 20 headphones are designed for comfort and performance.

New proprietary StayHear+ ear tips sat snugly at the entrance of the ear canal, and feature an improved conical design that ensures an effective seal to passively block noise, and the proper acoustic enclosure to improve active noise reduction.

I found them stable, secure, and barely felt.

The QC20 headphones can be used in two ways, giving you control over what you hear and when.

You can choose to (almost) totally block out the noisy world and enjoy the music.

Or, with the push of a button on the cord’s Y-joint, the QC20 headphones switch to the new Aware mode, which keeps the music playing, but allows surroundings to be heard clearly: a horn beeping, friend talking, a passerby, or gate announcement at the train or airport.
