SingPost gears up for the year-end Christmas festive peak

From today, SingPost is beefing up its operations. All its businesses are gearing up with additional manpower and extended operations so that customers can receive their gifts or purchases on time.

Below is a summary of the measures taken.

Special weekend deliveries

Saturday deliveries for mail packets. SingPost’s postmen will be delivering mail packets on all Saturdays in December so that their customers will receive their gifts or purchases on time.

Weekend deliveries for Speedpost. SingPost’s couriers and management staff will be delivering parcels on weekends (i.e. Saturdays and Sundays) till mid January 2014 so that people can receive their gifts/purchases on time.

Peak season helpers at post offices

SingPost will be deploying additional helpers to ensure a more pleasant customer experience.

From 19 to 24 December, SingPost staff including management staff will help out at 23 post offices with high traffic.

About 250 staff are expected to be rostered to help out at the frontline during the busy lunch-time peak hours.

Additional collections for posting boxes islandwide

Additional collections on Saturdays from posting boxes, on 7, 14 and 21 December.

Additional collections on Sundays for posting boxes at major post offices. From about 20 post offices with high traffic on two Sundays in December – 8 and 15 December.

24/7 parcel pickups and returns

To offer customers greater convenience and flexibility, SingPost has extended the network of POPStation to 10 more locations across Singapore which allow customers to get service faster and closer to their homes or offices.

Apart from retrieval of parcels, customers can also return their purchases at the POPStation.

Introduced in April this year, these 24/7 smart lockers enable customers to collect their parcels in their own time; be it after office hours, over the weekend or on a public holiday.

Additional indoor sorters

More than 30 temporary workers have been engaged during this festive season to help expedite the processing of all inbound and outbound mail items.
