The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router AC1900 EA6900 is the company’s flagship router with the fastest Wireless-AC speed.
Equipped with a dual-core processor and external antennae to deliver higher speed and wider range, the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router AC1900 EA6900 promises high-performance connectivity in the home.
The new router offers speeds of up to 600Mbps to Wireless-N clients and up to 1300Mbps to Wireless-AC clients.
The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router AC1900 EA6900 also sees the re-introduction of three external and removable dipole antennae, for better performance.
Aside from giving consumers maximum flexibility in steering the signal to enhance network range and stability, the inclusion of external antennae also allow discerning users to swap out the antennae with other types depending on personal preference.
The EA6900 runs on a powerful 800Mhz dual-core processor for maximum performance, sporting USB3.0 connectivity to share storage media across the home network.
The router promises seamless connectivity not only with the Internet, but also amongst the increasing number of network-enabled devices in the market.
The EA6900 also incorporates advanced beamforming technology to deliver greater network range and higher Wi-Fi speeds in the home, by being directionally aware of client devices’ locations, and steering wireless signals towards these devices for a more stable connection.
To deliver a simple and intuitive experience, the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router AC1900 EA6900 can be installed without an installation CD.
Consumers can simply connect to the router through an Internet browser via PCs or smart devices, and follow the set-up wizard to complete installation.
Users can also opt to create a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account for easy control of the home network, including settings, managing their connected devices and Smart Wi-Fi tools such as parental controls and guest access to the home network.
The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi platform offers a complete and complementary ecosystem to Linksys users by creating and supporting a comprehensive range of tools and mobile applications (developed by Linksys and third party developers through the Linksys App Developer programme) that deliver effortless control and greater connectivity over home networks anytime and anywhere.

Is Linksys still around? Haven’t heard from them for such a long time.
Yes it is Linda. They were bought by Belkin from Cisco in March 2013 and has indeed been a bit quiet on the scene. But they’re making a comeback and have quite a line-up for the coming months. Stay tuned 🙂
