The version that Singapore will get is the 16GB one with 1.9GHz Quad-Core Processor, with either Wi-Fi only or 4G LTE+Wi-Fi.

For the moment, it seems the 1.6GHz Octa-Core Processor is only headed for the GALAXY S4 smartphones in Korea.

Both versions come with 2GB RAM, microSD slot for up to 64GB and 2,600 mAh battery.

Memory ranges from 16-64GB. Tech specs can be found here.

The Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) felt smooth and responsive, customised with Samsung-unique features such as Smart Pause, Air View, Air Gesture, Group Play, S Voice Drive, S Health etc.

The 2-megapixel front camera detects the user’s face and can automatically pause or continue playing a video depending on whether the user turns away or looks back at the screen.

You can also scroll the page either by moving your face upwards/downwards, or by tilting the GALAXY S4 slightly with your hand (depending on your preference settings).

Air View provides the equivalent of a mouse-over to activate previews of emails, calendar entries, images or videos without actually opening them.

Air Gesture can also be used to scroll the page or browse a page forwards or back without physical contact – good when your fingers are dirty and you don’t want to smudge the screen.

S Translator has a useful phrasebook that can be used offline. Regular translations still require data connection to Samsung’s translation database. Users may be better off checking out Google’s Translate on Android app that now works in offline mode.
