The new ASUS convertible Ultrabook – featuring a display on either side of its cover – is available in Singapore from today for S$2,698.

The ASUS TAICHI tablet-cum-Ultrabook convertible has two screens – one on either side of the cover. Available from today in Singapore for S$2,698.
The 11.6-inch Ultrabook runs on Windows 8 and features a 3rd generation Intel Core i7 processor and two back-to-back Full High Definition (FHD) IPS screens.

The convertible has a slender profile that tapers to only 3 mm, weighing just 1.25kg.
With the lid open, the TAICHI is an Ultrabook with an FHD screen (non-touch), backlit keyboard and large multi-touch touchpad.
Lid closed, the TAICHI becomes a tablet 10-point multi-touch all-glass FHD screen. A stylus is included for pinpoint precision.
In terms of design, a metal frame between the two screens for increased strength and rigidity; a special hinge design dissipates heat from the double sided display; while bevelled, diamond-cut edges reduce the thickness of the lid and screen frame.
The TAICHI comes with 256GB SSD storage, dual-band Wi-Fi with Intel WiDi and Bluetooth 4.0 and two USB 3.0 ports for full support for the latest high-speed external storage devices and rapid mobile device recharging.
ASUS Super Hybrid Engine II technology also gives ASUS TAICHI longer battery life, promising up to two weeks’ standby time with two-second resume from hibernation.
