Leica has just unveiled globally its fourth and latest dedicated black-and-white shooter – the M11 Monochrom rangefinder. Retail price in Singapore: S$13,470.
Thanks to Leica Singapore, I had the opportunity last week to try out the M11 Monochrom for myself prior to today’s global unveiling. I am partial to black-and-white photography and have always loved the toning of Leica cameras. The M11 Monochrom did not disappoint, churning out Magnum-like shots ready for Pullitzer prize-winning stories.
The 4th generation of monochrome sensor Leica cameras offers maximum artistic freedom and flexibility in composing images with nothing but light and shadow.
With its BSI CMOS sensor specially designed for black-and-white photography and its enormous sensitivity range of ISO 125 to 200,000, the Leica M11 Monochrom boasts images with the finest detail, extremely high contrast and exceptional, natural sharpness.
The new Leica M11 Monochrom (right) looks identical to its sibling, the Leica M11. The former however has an all black paint finish and does not show the bright red Leica logo on the front of the camera.
It also offers the option of switching between 60, 36 and 18 MP at any time through pixel binning.
The camera has a built-in 256GB internal memory and a USB-C port.

Fuji Xerox today launched the Fuji Xerox DocuPrint P215 b (S$99), DocuPrint M215 b (S$169) and DocuPrint M215 fw (S$299). These monochrome printers are available in Singapore from today.

Created for small businesses and home offices, these compact, monochrome printers promises to help businesses save money, energy and reduce their impact on the environment.

With Fuji Xerox’s S-LED (Self-Scanning Light Emitting Diode) and DELCIS (Digitally-Enhanced Lighting Control Imaging System) technology, these printers will be able to produce consistently sharp images at true 1200 x 1200 dpi.

Four of the these are colour printing machines while the remaining three are monochorme lasers. These new printers and Multi-Function Centres (MFCs) are targeted at small office / home office (SOHO) and small-medium businesses (SMBs).

And to prevent paper jams, the new hassle-free printing technology includes a longer side guide to reduce paper skew, a short paper pass of 220mm, and an anti-curl system.
An enhanced two-roller system also picks up and separates the paper more efficiently.

Fuji Xerox launched in Singapore today 5 new monochrome laser printers from the DocuPrint 255 and DocuPrint 355 series. Prices range from S$199 to S$659. All will be available from 30 August, 2012.

It was only two weeks ago that Brother launched its slew of monochrome laser printers and multifunction machines in Singapore.
Today, Fuji Xerox has launched its own collection 5 monochrome laser printers, which are compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux platforms.

All five printers launched today feature duplex double-sided printing, print speeds of up to 30 pages per minute, and print resolutions of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi.
DocuPrint 255 family
The compact DocuPrint 255 family combines exceptional print quality with low cost of ownership. They are ideal for small businesses or the home office.
The DocuPrint M255z is a multifunction printer that prints, scans (with OCR), copies and faxes. It is able to store scanned data easily and quickly without the need for a PC.
DocuPrint 355 family
Fuji Xerox DocuPrint M355 df prints and scans duplex.
The three printers in the DocuPrint 355 family are targeted more at small-to-medium businesses, with the multifunction model providing enterprise level functionalities at an affordable price.
These printers are able to print the first page in six seconds from ready mode. Both the DocuPrint P355 d and DocuPrint M355 df can have wireless networking by plugging in an optional wireless module (S$105).
The DocuPrint M355 df is able to automatically scan double-sided documents.
The DocuPrint P355 db is a basic model that only has a USB port and does not have any networking capability.
Notes:
- The prefix P or M indicates whether the device is a single-function printer or a multifunction printer.
- The suffix d, b, f or w indicates whether the machine has duplex, basic, fax, wireless network capability. A suffix of z means the printer can do everything above.
- All prices include GST. Pictures of the printers are not shown to scale with each other.

Fuji Xerox has introduced two new digital monochrome multifunction devices (MFDs). The DocuCentre S2010 and S1810 offers small and home offices (SOHOs) with cost effective and high-performance copy, print and scan jobs of up to A3 size.

Fuji Xerox DocuCentre S2010 & S1810
The DocuCentre S2010 and S1810 print and copy at 20 pages per minute (ppm) and 18 ppm respectively. Both print images at up to 600 dpi resolution.
The Duplex Automatic Document Feeder loads up to 110 sheets and scans multi-page documents at 18 sheets per minute while the durable platen glass handles small or varied-sized documents and books for printouts.
Users can also electronically set and sort desired page order for fuss-free print collection, minimizing the need to manually collate high-volume printouts for faster turnaround time.
Multiple-Up function prints up to two pages on one sheet, and when in duplex mode – fits up to four pages on one piece of paper.
Further paper-saving can be achieved by digitizing documents up to a maximum of A3 size and storing scanned data to a personal computer (PC).
Connect a single user directly through USB or configure a network of multiple users through Ethernet support to facilitate document sharing.
The Toner Saver Mode calibrates toner density according to print or copy requirements, which controls ink usage and maximizes replacement schedules.
Equipped with built-in energy-saving Sleep Mode and Low Power Mode, DocuCentre S2010 and S1810 operate on low energy Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) and follow stringent International Energy Star Program standards.
The MFDs can be configured to fit workflow requirements – a desktop set-up for individuals or small groups, or a stand-alone device for multiple users, with maximum paper tray capacity of up to 850 sheets.
