The OPPO X 2021 rollable concept handset features a flexible display and structural stacking, offering users a more natural interactive experience.

The concept handset features OPPO’s three proprietary technologies.

  • Roll Motor powertrain
  • 2-in-1 Plate
  • Self-developed Warp Track high-strength screen laminate

The OLED display can vary from 6.7 inches to 7.4 inches, allowing users to adjust the size of the display based on actual needs.

OPPO AR Glass 2021 adopts a new split design, which is compact and ultra-light; making it nearly 75% lighter than its predecessor.

OPPO AR Glass 2021 is built with the Birdbath optical solution, enhancing the immersive experience.

It features sensors that include stereo fisheye camera, one ToF sensor, and one RGB camera.

They support natural interactions, including interactions via smartphone, gesture-based interactions and spatial localisation, as well as complete three-dimensional spatial localisation calculation within milliseconds.

“OPPO uses technology to empower people to capture the beauty around them and to unleash their imagination of the future; thereby helping everyone get the best out of life. Accordingly, we decide to set forth the 3+N+X technology development strategy for OPPO’s long-term development,” said Tony Chen, OPPO Founder and CEO.

This achieves precise localisation, offering users real and natural experience of spatial interaction in the AR world through the constant feedback of user real-time position within the space.

The OPPO CybeReal AR application is powered by real-time, spatial calculation technology which enables high-precision localisation and scene recognition, and is supported by OPPO’s three core technologies.

These include accurately reconstructing the world to the smallest detail, real-time high-precision localisation, and OPPO Cloud, enriching the user’s perception and understanding of the real world.

OPPO 3+N+X Strategy

The new technology development strategy was unveiled at the OPPO INNO Day 2020 in Shenzhen, China.

“It’s important to build technical capabilities, but it’s even more important to innovatively integrate them. OPPO believes we should bring the benefits to users, and leave all the complexity to us,” said Levin Liu, OPPO Vice President and Head of OPPO Research Institute, in his keynote speech.

Themed “Leap into the Future”, OPPO also trotted out its ethos of “Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World” based on “Virtuous Innovation”.

According to OPPO, the “3” refers to the three underlying technologies, namely hardware, software and services technologies, which help OPPO to bring an integrated smart life to users worldwide.

“N”, represents a number of OPPO’s essential capabilities, including AI, security and privacy, multimedia, and interconnectivity.

Lastly, “X”, refers to the leading-edge and differentiated technologies and strategic resources such as the flash charge technology that foster innovation and greatly improve user experience.
