The photos here were taken at the Xuan Zang Temple (玄奘寺)at Sun Moon Lake (日月潭) in central Taiwan, during my recent family vacation there.

The temple houses the relics of Xuan Zang – the buddhist monk upon which the Chinese classic, “Journey To The West” (西游记), was based.
Where will the road lead us in this new year? This pilgrim’s path leads to Xuan Zang Temple (玄奘寺)at Sun Moon Lake (日月潭) in central Taiwan.
Born in 600, his relics were brought from Nanjing to Japan by the Japanese army during World War II, and returned to Taiwan in 1955. The relics are now housed in Xuan Zang Temple.
