By the invitation of ION Orchard, the Palace of Versailles and ESSEC Business School are showcasing the French arts, history and culture in the heart of Singapore’s shopping district, at ION Art and ION Sky.

The highly immersive and interactive technology brings you on an exploration of the Palace of Versailles.

An initiative by the Palace of Versailles and ESSEC Business School, supported by the Michelin Corporate Foundation and in partnership with ION Orchard, Virtually Versailles made its global debut in Singapore in celebration of the France-Singapore Year of Innovation (YOI) 2018.

Conceptualised by Lumina Live!, Virtually Versailles is the world’s first exhibition to distill the grandeur of the historical landmark entirely through digital assets, yet retain its magnificence thanks to collaborations with technological partners like Google Arts & Culture.

Zalora launches flagship pop-up store at ION Orchard in Singapore

Zalora has launched its flagship digital interactive pop-up store at ION Orchard, extending its online fashion retail business offline into a traditional retail showroom, with a digital in-store experience.

The ZALORA Shop @ ION Orchard is located at #B2-04/05 and operates from 10 am to 10 pm daily till the end of January 2015.

The ZALORA Shop @ ION brings the online retailer to life by allowing customers to touch, feel and try on a carefully curated selection of exclusive brands.

They can choose from in-house label ZALORA, as well as global brands including River Island, Material Girl, Lola Skye, H.E. by Mango and Burton Menswear.

How it works:

  1. Specially curated products are displayed in-store and customers can pick out the items they want to try on.

With the GALAXY ALPHA 4G+, the functional beauty perfect for stylish fashionistas, shopping is now even more enjoyable for ZALORA customers,” said Eugene Goh, Vice President, IT & Mobile, Samsung Electronics Singapore.To enhance the customer experience, the shop is equipped with the GALAXY ALPHA 4G+ and GALAXY Tab S (10.5”) provided by technology partner Samsung. Free WiFi is also available so customers can browse lookbooks for styling tips on how to mix and match pieces.
  3. Once they decide which item/s to purchase, they can scan the barcode and then proceed to the self-serve express checkout counters to process their purchases.

Support Team Singapore for 2012 London Olympics

SingTel has just unveiled a 7.5m tall sculpture – the “SingTel Flame of Support”, in bustling Orchard Road to garner moral support for Team Singapore in the upcoming 2012 London Olympic Games (27 July to 12 August).

Singaporeans can express their support of Team Singapore by pressing the button that lights up a portion of the sculpture.

Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean (Minister for Home Affairs, Coordinating Minister for National Security and President of the Singapore National Olympic Council); Chua Sock Koong, Group Chief Executive Officer, SingTel; athletes Tao Li and Lim Heem Wei; as well as SNOC officials in from of the sculpture.

Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean (Minister for Home Affairs, Coordinating Minister for National Security and President of the Singapore National Olympic Council); Chua Sock Koong, Group Chief Executive Officer, SingTel; athletes Tao Li and Lim Heem Wei; as well as SNOC officials in from of the sculpture.

The 7.5m sculpture is located outside ION Orchard. It weighs 1,500 kg and consists of more than 3,300 LED lights.

Designed by Jon Griffin of Brandspeed and the main contractor Light10 Industries, the iconic sculpture comprises of five wave-like structures designed to resemble exuberant flames, each representing one of the five Olympic Rings.

The interactive structure aims to ignite the nation’s passion in a collective declaration of support for Team Singapore.

If there are 200,000 presses of the button, the entire Flame will become fully lit.

The unveiling of the statue by Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean (Minister for Home Affairs, Coordinating Minister for National Security and President of the Singapore National Olympic Council) kicks off the 90-day countdown to the Games.

Hopefully, we can garner the 200,000 pledges of support by the Opening Ceremony of the Games on 27 July.
