Today is the beginning of the second half of 2020. Here’s the thematic workplan for for the second half of the year.

The first half of 2020 has been ALL about something that began last year – COVID-19.

Unfortunately, the second half of 2020 looks set to be all about the pandemic as well.

The past six months saw countries all over the world reeling from the impact of a new disease – frantically learning about it and desperately trying to stem its spread.

The next six months will see countries continue their fight against the global epidemic- managing second wave outbreaks, racing to develop vaccines and cures, and emerging out of lockdowns to return to some form of normalcy.

Going forward, the “new normal” will be very different from the normal of pre-COVID days.

So the next half year will be all about living WITH COVID-19 – in all aspects of life.

For, I’ve laid down a focal theme for each month in the second half of 2020.

The theme for July will be on the new normal for “Life” with COVID – the new normal for safe and healthy living while coming out of CB.

This will include, technologies, solutions and gadgets that enable us to protect ourselves from COVID-19.


For August, it’ll be on “Working” with COVID – the new normal for business and work.

This will include again technologies, solutions and gadgets based on the new trends emerging as a result of COVID-19, including #WorkFromHome, #GoingBackToOffice and what I believe will be the new normal for work – a hybrid comprising a balance of both.


For September, the theme will be on leisure as our personal and work lives normalise more and we revert from crisis/survival mode back to a state when we can let our hair down a bit.


In October, the theme will be on travel, as hopefully, by then the situation would have improved to the extent that people begin thinking/planning their travels.


Next in November (in anticipation of the year-end festive season), the theme will be on the new “gift-giving” – given the upheavals on all aspects of life due to COVID-19.


For December, the theme will be on the family and family life as we regroup from the trauma of COVID-19 and celebrate kinship and love.
